Tonights viewing:

Back to the Future Despite the countless times I have seen this film since its original release I really enjoyed watching Marty's adventures in 1950's small town U.S.A. (I picked up the BTTF trilogy in Plays winter sale).

Safe I must admit that I was not really a Steathem fan, but after giving him a second chance in recent months he is beginning to grow on me. This is a well made, if unoriginal, action cum thriller. The action scenes are pretty decent and it doesn't have the over the top CGI feel of many recent action films. Unfortunately my German blu is sans English subtitles, so I had to work a bit harder than normal to follow the German subs for the Russian and Mandarin dialogue.

Even though I only watched the trilogy on TV over the last 3 weekends, I couldn't resist upgrading my DVD set, I ordered from zavvi using a couple of discount codes, just waiting on it to arrive so me and the kids can watch all three films again in HD

Wes Cravens new nightmare. I managed to pick up the BD collection for £14 a while ago.

I think this one is on par with the original, an absolutely fantastic return to the franchise for Craven as well as probably being his last truly exceptional film. Love this, doesn't deserve to share the same disc as the awful Freddy's dead. Highly recommended.

I treated myself to a Surround Sound System as a Birthday present for myself and decided to watch Lawrence of Arabia on Blu for the first time ever. I really enjoyed it, it was so stunning to look at not just because of the 4k transfer but the cinematography was so majestic. As for the sound it really was quite exciting to hear a film how it should be heard because this is the first time I've ever listened to surround sound other than at the cinema and its completely blown me away.
Rewatching my favourite films is gonna be a revelation I reckon now I can hear it properly and how it should be heard.
J Harker and Linbro like this.
