1-4)More Russian animation,5-6)two movies from master of Hungarian animation Marcell Jankovics,7)Owen Wilson as a serial killer ! 8)my friend's introduction to Bava,9)haven't seen this for a long time, still one of my favorites from the director,10)the cult classic,11)debut short by James Cameron with a few ideas he used in his latest films,12)more serious(?) in tone than part one,13)bad sci-fi action film!! 14)Turkish film by Nuri Bilge Ceylan about life in a small village,15)Stone Years ,the true story of a young couple during the dark period between the Greek civil war until the end of dictatorship in 1974,16)Punk Lawyer, mediocre Dutch film about a lawyer who witness the death of a young but desides to stay silent,17)nice animated film ,18)my second time around to this good film,19)well not the greatest way to begin a franchise, still watchable,20)nothing new to the genre, too much action

Watched Kick-Ass 2 last night. Another superhero movie that has too much drama going on without the costumes on. Worth a watch, not as good as the first one tho.

Sawney Flesh Of Man on Blu Ray. Good photography, mixed performances but very cannibal-generic and at times just a little dull. The crazy inbred cannibal clan story line is too played out to generate any suspense or drama.

Oblivion on Blu. As expected a great picture in high def but overlong, predictable in every way and again, just a bit dull. Two hours plus is just indulgent and tiresome.

Surviving the game.jpg

Surviving the game.

Directed by Ernest R Dickerson, probably known more today for directing episodes of the Walking dead, The Wire and Dexter (as well as many, many other top quality shows) also Bulletproof ( an Adam Sandler movie that dosent suck) and Tales from the Crypt Demon knight. Dickerson delivers a pacey, action packed update of the most dangerous game, even re-creating the count Zarrof's trophy room scene.
Ice-T (remember him?!) is a down and out wallowing in depression after the death of his family. A seemingly compassionate charity worker played by Charles S. Dutton offers him work and a chance to rebuild his life. He finds soon finds himself out in the wilderness with a group of nutters including Rutger Hauer, F. Murray Abraham, a deranged John C. McGinley and best of all GARY BUSEY in full on nutter mode playing a psychiatrist!
It's not long before old Ice-T finds himself hunted by the group and must try and turn the tables if he is to survive.

The film is tons of fun. Garey Busey is in full on coke fiend nuts form and Dickerson delivers the goods. Well worth watching.

Time bandits

Another fantastic job by arrow. Has to be the most fun movie I've every watched, also looks like the cast had even more funny making it. A classic, going to watch it again this weekend. 20/10!

Horrors Of Malformed Men

Blood, gore, nudity, strange colours and bizarre photography in this infamous Asian horror. Bonkers but entertaining.

The Pirate

Typical French drama about relationships. This French dvd has no English subtitles, but it's got Jane Birkin and Maruschka Detmers as lesbian lovers so who gives a shit!
