Rewatched Lorna...The Exorcist (1974, "Clifford Brown")
And Dark Night Of The Scarecrow (1981, Frank De Felitta)

DNOTS, for those who haven't been introduced is easily the pinnacle of the TVM genre imo. Save those Anthropohagus pounds (you've all just complain how slow it is anyhow ) and buy this instead cough!!

LTE just gets madder everytime I watch it......and HV is still wasted in a tiny role ahem.

Lorna is one of the Franco's i've never seen.

Do you recommend it to someone who enjoys his work?

Let me interrupt and point you to Pete's post from many moons ago (when the Film Stills thread was still alive and well and full of stills)...

An unreserved yes to that. One of his "rougher" efforts, Mondo Macabro have nonetheless done a superlative job of restoring this...watch the deleted scenes cough.
Literally unlike anything I've seen outside of "real" porn , the story is a bit hackneyed, but only he could film it like this cough. One of the 70s highlights imo.

So you know who to blame....

Sexy Sisters (1977, JF)
From its opening to its rather abrupt finale, with this one he lets rip. Non stop sleaze and filth, Jack Taylor's face, which no doubt saved on scenery , and Pam Stanford's wig all add up to a rollicking ride and a half. Ostensibly a Spiral Staircase/Gaslight rip (cough!!), this super tale of cash and gash is next on my Golden Goya list, as my dvd is getting a bitty worn ahem.

Local Hero (1985, Bill Forsyth).
BF's biggest hit still retains his unique otherworldlyness (is that a word?? Tis now ), though to a lesser extent than the earlier films; charming though it is!! I've grown up with Forsyth's work, and I still have time for all his stuff...even the Gregory sequel!!!
Recommended to those who don't see British film as a never ending stream of shitty geezer movies.....

It is a word, but usually spelled 'otherworldliness', strangely swapping the y from the end of otherworldly for a i.

Low expectations can of course help, but it really is a joy to watch Arnold reprise this role and the film moves briskly along through a succession of inventively staged action set-pieces. Some of the gags fall flat and Jai Courtney awkwardly sticks out as Kyle Reese, but even he's not nearly as terrible as I'd feared he'd be.

Overall, better than T3 and Salvation, but still not a patch on Cameron's first two.

Screwiest time travel logic EVER, though.
I 2nd that emotion! went in with fairly low expectations and was pleasantly surprised, there are not many areas left to explore in the ever cascading world of skynet and killing machines but this turned out to be a solid action/sci-fi movie, Arnie can indeed still hold his own and Emilia Clarkes performance was very competent, never once do they allow you to get bored, and you just get swept along in the time travelling, energetic shock wave. They definitely need to make this the last in the series but we all know they won't!

Terminator genisys

Like others went in with low expectations and ended up really enjoying it, not as good as the first two but miles ahead of what followed. Was great to see Arnie in this iconic role once more and he really made the movie every scene. With him in was a joy to watch. To quote the film he maybe old but he's not obsolete. Only downside was some of the plot holes and as others have mentioned, the actor playing Kyle Reese want an annoying twat. Was nice to see Matt smith in a small but very important role. 7./5/10
