Texas chainsaw massacre

One of the greatest horror films ever made. As I'm working class and northern I'm headed down to B&Q to buy a chainsaw and realise James Ferman's darkest fears (Just kidding!!). Nope, it's been over 15 years since this was legally available and I'm yet to see a power tool rampage.

Texas chainsaw massacre 2

A film Hooper wasn't initially interested in making. As part of Cannon pictures the chances of getting another craftily made horror that's not as violent as it seems was nil. So Hooper took the film and gave Cannon what it wanted. In contrast to a lot of the right leaning action pictures Cannon was shitting out on a regular basis, single handily giving Chuck Norris and Charles Bronson careers in the 80's, TCM2 is pretty much a satire on 80's America and Reaganomics.
A lot of people expecting a retread of part one hate the film. Its always been pretty divisive. For me though its hysterical. From using the saw as a penis substitute, to the cook running a successful Chilli empire and feeding the public the victims his family harvests at night, to Nam land and Nubbins, its a film that makes me chuckle.

Wasn't there a chainsaw attack in Switzerland recently?

Yes. No mention of Texas chainsaw though. I'm yet to see one locally however.

Mansfield 66/67 HORROR CHANNEL FRIGHTFEST | MANSFIELD 66/67

To Hell and Back : The Kane Hodder Story HORROR CHANNEL FRIGHTFEST | TO HELL AND BACK

It Stains the Sand Red HORROR CHANNEL FRIGHTFEST | IT STAINS THE SANDS RED

Fashionista HORROR CHANNEL FRIGHTFEST | FASHIONISTA

Our Evil HORROR CHANNEL FRIGHTFEST | OUR EVIL

Other title that i did not watch but were highly recommended from others were Imitation Girl, Freddy/Eddy, Cold Hell, Ruin Me and Meatball Machine Koduko. Lets hope most of the titles get a release of some form as i am still awaiting a few great titles to turn up from last year (They Call Me Jeeg Robot, Bad Blood)

I will list the release dates of titles i know that have UK distribution on another thread.
I really wanted to check out Cold Hell too. How could I not when the opening blurb lists it as 'The bastard child of 80’s serial killer films and Żuławski...'. Apparently Shudder picked it up, so hopefully it won't take too long to appear on there.

Choosing what to watch is one of the main problems at Frightfest as there is always clashes. Hopefully some of the ones i missed will show at Mayhem or Celluloid Screams next month as contemplating going to both as well as the Frightfest all dayer on the 28th October.

True. You are more likely to see the London Corrosive Liquid Massacre before a UK chainsaw massacre. Doesn't have the same flow of words though.
