Enjoyable second outing for Spider-Man.
Sure, there are some real silly moments but overall it's okay.
Mysterio looks good and MJ gets better screen moments.
I just wish Spider-Man would stop taking his mask off at every occasion.

The Fifth Cord(1971)

Franco nero plays a washed up drunken reporter, who ends up as a suspect in the series of murders that he is investigating. where the maniac leaves a black glove minus a finger at the scene of each crime.

from the chap who directed that footprints on the moon film, luigi Bazzoni. this is a pretty decent giallo in deed. with great camera work from crystal Plummage's Vittorio storaro.

it is a little slow at times however, but still worth a watch nevertheless with some great suspense scenes with a disabled woman strangled and thrown down the stairs, a young boy fighting for his life from the maniac, and a great
fight with Nero and the maniac in a scrap yard.

cast is pretty good as well, with a great performance from nero as his usual macho self knocking back the J&B and slapping around his sexy blonde girlfriend. and Edmund perdom co-starring, and laugh a minute Rossella Falk.

Good solid giallo. can't understand why the BBFC still think it warrants an 18 though. 15 max in my opinion. 72 out of 100.

The Mutilation 1984.

A teen who is estranged from his father is asked to lock up a beach house, with his friends they are being stalked and killed in horrible different ways.

This was a decent slasher film of the early 80s, with some laughable teens dying badly. There is some slow moments and tends to drag on but the killings make it enjoyable with plenty blood splatter and decent background score, don't expect everyone to be the best at acting and some flaws with it but worth a watch. 6 out of 10.

Red Sonja
A temple holding the talisman of the planet is stolen by an evil queen, one of the priestesses escapes but is murdered and so her sister goes to find it with the help of Arnie, some little annoying shit and a fat man to save the world.
A fun 80s fantasy for sure, some great fighting and entertaining characters.

The first kill reaction is the best i have ever seen he is dying for about 20 minutes

The Comedy Of Terrors. 1963.

A dishonest funeral director tries to create customers for his failing business with his assistant while living with his wife who can't sing and his ageing father in law.

I don't think I have laughed so much with a Vincent Price movie than this one, Price showing a more comedic side with a dash of horror on how to cut corners with a funeral business.

Tagging along in this Boris Korloff as the old hard of hearing In law, he doesn't have many lines but any scene with him is always great to watch. Joyce Jameson plays the wife who thinks she can be opera singer (have the volume turned down when she sings). Basil Rathbone plays the landlord who can't take the hint on staying dead and Peter Lorre as the funeral assistant who loves opera and can screw up the screw up (if that made sense). Definitely one to watch.

Ender's Game (2013)

Having never read Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game series of books i really didn't know what to expect from the film. Having now watched it i found it all rather agreeable.

The first half comes across like Harry Potter meets Full Metal Jacket on a space station as young Ender (Asa Butterfield) enters military academy to prepare for a future alien invasion via test run simulations overseen by Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley with the end result being rather a nice twist that i only thought about as it was actually taking place.

The film on the whole is a well acted, solidly scripted piece that is at times as thought provoking as it is thrilling and it looks fantastic to boot.

The Pack (2015)

Australian nature horror as a family living in a remote farm house come under attack from a marauding pack of wild dogs.

One of those films that's good and very watchable without being outstanding. It's beautifully photographed (Outback lovers will enjoy some of the scenery) and nicely acted with the dog attacks well choreographed as to show gore without the animals looking fake or CGI during the attacks.

It's a film that does it's job well without any serious flaws and the reason for the savage dogs is simple enough - they just are, and yet it's not quite thrilling enough to be top tier in the horror genre.

Far superior to the Liam Neeson vehicle The Grey, from a few years ago.
