Confessions Of A Police Captain (1971) Martin Balsam and Franco Nero cross swords in this thriller. MB is the titular porker with the proverbial bee in his bonnet about crime. Comes with the job no doubt Saner than most films of this genre. But still plenty of fun to be had. Recommended

Easy Rider (1969) Dennis Hopper's magical mystery tour of the US is as laid back as the machines ridden so casually throughout in this almost mythical classic of indie cinema. The fact the film ends in sudden death means it lends itself to allegory but at it's heart Easy Rider is a call out to the young (and the young at heart) that forced Hollywood to completely rethink it's overblown ideas. A genuine classic that comfortably sits in my top ten of all time. |

The Creeper 1948. A scientist has managed to turn himself to a cat, after several deaths his colleague tries to stop him of the madness. Decent 40s B movie, for the first 20 mins was tempted to switch it off as it seems to drag on but got more entertaining, it's more murder mystery type then comes the twist at the end Eduardo Ciannelli plays the mad scientist with ingenious plans for cats and Onslow Stevens plays the assistant trying to stop him. Worth a watch 6 out of 10.

House of Dracula 1945. At the house of Dr. Edelman Dracula arrives to find a cure for his vampirism as does the Wolf Man looking for a cure, but what is hiding in the basement. Saw this year's ago and found it boring, thought I'd give it another try and now I appreciate it, John Carradine is no Bela Lugosi but does have the menacing eyes and blank stare. Lon Chaney Jr returns as Lawrence Talbot, this may not be the best monster mash movie but certainly helps pass 67 minutes of boredom.

The House Of Fear 1945. Seven rich men retire to a castle in the Scottish Highlands, when they start receiving orange pips they begin to die, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are called into investigate. Basil Rathbone returns as the English sleuth joined by Nigel Bruce as Watson, the two seem to share laugh in another adventure based on the story The Five Orange Pips. Roy William Neil does a great job of directing and keeping the suspense alive from start right to the end with a dark murky atmosphere with Dennis Hoey as the bumbling Scotland Yard detective. 6-7 out of 10.

Gestapo's Last Orgy(1977) Lise Cohen(daniela poggi) is a Jew who gets sent to a concentration camp that is also a brothel for entertaining the german soldiers. and is singled out by the chap who runs the camp, Captain Von starker, because she isnt afraid to die and he wants to break her with torture. and eventually he ends up falling for her. definitely one of the better ones out of the Italian Nazi films. and has a good plot and decent production values, eventhough it still has all the usual rape and exploitation that you can expect from these films, including an infamous banquet scene. but some of the actual nastiness although in very bad taste can be comical at times, especially when Lise gets suspended naked over a load of rats that will supposedly rip her to pieces, but in fact look like a bunch of friendly hamsters. An okay watch, and Daniela poggi is very easy on the eye. 70 out of 100.
