Queen Of Blood. 1966.

After receiving a alien transmission a crew are sent to Mars to find the crashed ship and bring back any life form.

Regardless of the low budget this film had it was quite interesting to watch and enjoyable, John Saxon and Dennis Hopper play part of the astronauts sent to Mars and recover the alien queen played brilliantly by Florence Marley, who seems to live on blood. Basil Rathbone plays the scientist. The film is quite fast paced and and doesn't get confusing mixed with bright colours and atmosphere made it more enjoyable.

Back to the future trilogy thought 3rd was weakest of all 3, both ghostbusters giving 3rd a miss, both gremlins, been a while since I've seen them and all classic 80s films.

This shows completely that you don't need a big budget to make a really amazing film.

You watch the 1st scene and by the end, you find out that you were watching something else instead.

Truly intelligent film making.

Peyton Place (1957)

Excellent drama about repression in small town America on the eve of WWII.

Gossip, scandal, homicide, suicide, rape, incest, and moral hypocrisy belie the town of Peyton Place's tranquil façade. Lana Turner, Diane Varsi, Russ Tamblyn and Arthur Kennedy (You can probably guess which of the above sins he plays part in) are part of an excellent ensemble cast in this drama which unfolds at a stately pace to begin with but soon becomes fascinating viewing under Val Lewton fave, Mark Robson's, direction.

Made in 1957, the film tackled subjects unheard of in popular cinema at the time and still retains a UK 15 certificate from the BBFC.

David Lynch once said that Peyton Place was the origin of Twin Peaks. Make of that what you will.

It's an amazing film, tbh when I finish watching I thought was too similar to the Sion Sono movie Why Don't you Play in Hell, but is a different complete animal.

The Beast Must Die (1974)

"One of these eight people will turn into a werewolf. Can you guess who it is when we stop the film for the WEREWOLF BREAK? See it ... solve it ... but don't tell!"

Bond style gadgetry meets Gothic horror in this superb diverse ensemble casted original horror film.

The Invisible Woman. 1940.

A model agrees to become a guinea pig for a eccentric professor who has created a machine that can make anyone invisible, she agrees to do it and settle a few scores until some gangsters try to take the machine.

This is what started the horror thriller with Claude Rains being a mad scientist with the first film and Vincent Price in the second feature to becoming a more science fiction comedy trend. Virginia Bruce plays model Kitty who agrees to try the machine created by Professor Gibbs played by John Barrymore. From start to finish this was a laugh even the tough gangster having the low squeaky voice makes it more comedic.
