Dragons Forever. 1988.

A team of lawyers are hired by a chemical plant owner in order to eliminate the opposition with rumors of water pollution caused by the plant and decide to see who the real enemy is.

This was your typical action/comedy from Hong Kong from Sammo Hung (starred and Directed) along with Yuen Biao and Jackie Chan who seem at odds with each other. The fight scenes are always great to watch and Jackie doing his own stunts with a ceiling fan in this one, Benny Urquidez has a small role towards the end with his style of fighting. Sadly this was the last film to appear Sammo, Yuen and Jackie together and very underated movie that was given a decent release..Bring out Project A and Wheels on Meals someone. Recommended.

THE POLICE ARE BLUNDERING IN THE DARK
A number of fashion models are being murdered and all are linked to a wheelchair bound photographer, in this rarely seen Giallo.
The murders are sufficiently gory, there is plenty of disrobing from the cast, but like a lot of ‘lesser’ Gialli, this one drags in the middle ( including a dinner table scene that seems to go on for about a week ).
However it kicks back into gear towards the finale in true bonkers mode, when we discover said photographer ( who looks like a cross between Bob Dylan and Salvador Dali ) has invented a machine that can photograph people’s’ thoughts (!)
Obviously not up there with the classics, but great to a Giallo I’d never seen before - part of Vinegar Syndrome’s wonderful Forgotton Gialli Blu-ray set.

MACABRE
Lambert Bava’s first directed movie, this charts the descent into madness by a woman who has recently been released from psychiatric care, following the death of her lover in a car crash in which she was the passenger.
Her original cheating on her husband at the expense of her children comes into focus early on, when her daughter drowns her younger brother in the bath and making out it was an accident ( this was the reason for her returning in haste in the car that led to the accident in the first place).
Bernice Stegers gives a terrific central performance, mirrored by an equally impressive one from Veronica Zinny as her increasingly dangerous daughter.
It’s a slow moving film, but a fascinating one. 88Films Italian Collection have done a terrific job on this Blu Ray - it’s never looked better.

This might be the best Bond movie, though I'm not sure whether I am here ready to remove On Her Majesty's Secret Service from the top spot yet.

With this film, Sam Mendes shows he's more than an arthouse director, that someone capable of perfectly marrying drama and action with some highly enjoyable and impressive action set pieces

It's also a film where Daniel Craig seems completely at ease as James Bond, moreso than in Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace, and his interactions with Javier Bardem's Silva show a wry humour masking a menace which is always lurking just beneath the surface. I think Bardem is terrific in this, playing a character with real depth, cunning and thread mixed with playfulness. It's a film which uses nostalgia to good effect to bring the past and present together in a film which is more fun than the previous two Bond films.

As the action moves around and the story develops to reveal more of James Bond's past, the film really holds your attention. The present is just as interesting because of characters like Naomie Harris's Moneypenny Ralph Fiennes ' Mallory, and Ben Wishaw's Q, all great additions to the MI6 team.

Once we reach the titular location for the final act, the film takes a more melancholic turn making it, and Bond, more emotionally engaging and interesting.
Definitely my favourite of the Daniel Craig movies and probably my favourite Bond film. Maybe because it doesn't entirely feel like one. Personally i find OHMSS the worst Bond film by far. Really really don't like that one.

Default Take The Lead & The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence)

Take The Lead

True story starring Antonio Banderas as a Ballroom Dancer Instructor who volunteers to teach Ballroom Dancing to an inner city school's detention group. It has the usual cliché of the teens not taking to it originally but finally accept it but I found it to be a hidden gem.

The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence)

A Prison Governor uses sadistic methods to keep his prisoners in line but nothing seems to work so he gets the idea to recreate The Human Centipede as a last resort.

The stars from the first 2 movies join up in different roles. This is absolutely crazy. Dieter Laser plays his role as a psychotic Texas Prison Governor with a seemingly deranged glee with Laurence R. Harvey playing his Assistant. There are also roles for Bree Olson and Eric Roberts.

This is not a film for everybody but I found this to be really enjoyable, there are some inventive torture techniques (Water Boarding with boiling water) and a self depreciating script making fun of the original films along with a joke of the Adult Film version (Which I believed starred Olson)

On a side note, I attended the UK Premier of this film at The Nottingham Broadway Cinema. Laser was there in attendance along with Tom Six and his Sister Ilona who was a Producer.

Butcher Baker Nightmare Maker.

Starts of with an omenesque deadly accident, when a couple leave there son Billy with auntie, and go off on holiday.Unfortuneately some one forgot to check there brakes on the car,and no sooner are they off, than they have crashed into a truck carrying telegraph poles and the driver is beheaded,( in a rather Final Destination type way).
Fourteen years later Billy is on the basketball team, and looking to get a scholarship so he can leave home..And more to the point get away from his auntie, who is slightly. nucking futs... After murdering the television repair man, because he rejected her sexual advances (apparently he is the boyfriend of Billy's basketball coach) and gets stabbed in the neck for his troubles.. Where as A Nightmare On Elm Street part 2 sort of skirted around it's gay subtext (gym teacher into S & M) Nightmare Maker just comes right out with it in the form of Bo Stevenson as a homophobic detective, who basically accuses everyone of being gay,it seems easier to do that, than to actually find any evidence... Nightmare Maker has Susan Tyrrell as a possessive religious nutter who occasionally kills anyone who gets in the way of her obsession over her nephew Billy... Susan Tyrrell is superb as the nutty aunt, who has a rather unhealthy fixation on Jimmy McNichol as Billy...I thought this was a fun if bonkers Psycho drama that had a great slasher movie ending...

I think it was one that wasn't prosecuted. Not one of the original 'nasties'.

Same as stuff like Dead and Buried.

It's ages since i thought about them. When the Dark Side Nasties book came out i could practically name them all.
