Is that the one that is set entirely in a radio station where you get all the information from external reports? If so, it is a cracking film and really tense thriller. It's amazing what you can do with only one location.

Pontypool

Started incredibly well .... ala .. Night of The Living Dead in a radio station ... but after the halfway mark, it looked like they ran out of ideas and it became incredibly stupid. A real shame, as it had the makings of a great little horror movie.

i re-watched Paul W.S Anderson's "remake" of Death Race yesterday and after a second viewing it's an incredibly enjoyable action flick, The Stath, although not the best actor in the world manages to carry the film really well. Great stuff....

I watched Pontypool this weekend also!

***SPOILERS***

Interesting premise which soon turned into a bit of a shambles. Shame. Good idea but flawed.

I will watch this again in the future because it deserves a second look. The build up of tension in the first half was pretty good.

It felt to me like the whole 'word' thing was brought into the mix when they ran out of steam with the initial set up. It felt thrown in and really messy, like it wasn't planned enough.

I was having a beer so might have missed things early on that pointed to the language aspect - but I dunno. At one point near the end I thought to myself - 'This is bullshit'.

The infected word idea was a very interesting one but I think with such a complex concept of "how can you not understand something you already know the meaning of" they could either go down the dodgy path of psychobabble or keep it vague and unsure. Unfortunately they picked the middle which didn't quite work, I hear the book suffers from the same problem. Really interesting concept, but perhaps not the understanding to properly execute it.

i watched high school Fight Flick Never Back Down last night, i actually really like this film, it not the most brutal fight film and is a little to unbelievable but there's some good choreographed fights in it, plus it has Amber Heard in it, which is a bonus..

Finally got to see my first Nazisploitation movie Beast in Heat.
Hard to decide if I enjoyed it or not! I kinda did but the scenes with 'the beast' bordered a very thin line between hilarious and sleazy.
Probably have to watch it again.
