DVD Trash 8th July 2010 10:19 AM

So have I! That is random! Would have bought Arrows version but it is cut!

Pete 14th July 2010 03:50 PM

Kaput Lager - Last Days of the SS arrived today and despite saying on the cover it has english audio, it is in italian only!

The Raro edition of The Key also came today and even though I ordered the edition with english subs, I got the non-subbed version instead!:mmph:

Anyone got the subtitled editon?

DVD Trash 14th July 2010 04:09 PM

Hey Loops, I'm picking up my copy of The Key when I goto Italy in August, if you can be bothered waiting we could swap? I'm getting the Raro version as well, not sure what version i'll get though!

http://www.rarovideo.com/schedaTitol...eto%20italiano

That is the version you are looking for, they have slightly different covers!

I don't mind waiting :)

I assumed the version I ordered was the english edition because DVD Beaver used that cover for their review / comparison of the english edition.

DVD Trash 21st July 2010 11:01 PM

Cool, will post when I'm over, picking it up from Thrauma.it, can u believe this shop is only 10-15 from my place in Italy? Ordered tons of Eurotrash from them, can't wait to watch it all.

broonage 22nd July 2010 08:34 AM

You have a place in Italy? Lucky chappy!

Ooh,love that movie...but I'm also a bit of a Rita Pavone fan and a bit weird... :loco:
It's not a traditional western in any way though, more like a crazy 60's pop western musical.
I wonder what you will think while watching it? ;)

Btw understanding Italian definitely helps with this movie because all the songs are in Italian and they actually have a meaning in the film (further explaining some actions of our heroine etc...).

It's odd, according to IMDB:

Quote:

Runtime:
Italy:98 min | Spain:92 min | USA:81 min
Though as far I know the Mya release is the same version of the film as the No Shame release.

Unless it's a difference between Italian dub, and English dub?

robertzombie 26th August 2010 10:27 PM

Aha!

Blade of the Ripper was original released in North American on DVD by No Shame Films in 2005 under the title The Strange vice of Mrs. Wardh. Even though the film has been given an alternate title, this transfer looks very similar to the transfer for the No Shame DVD release. It should be noted that the listed running time of eight one minutes on DVD back cover is incorrect. Both releases clock in at ninety six minutes and 24 seconds. This release like the No Shame DVD release is interlaced and has not been flagged for progressive playback. The No Shame DVD release was a dual layer, while this release is a single layer presentation.

This release comes with two audio options a Dolby Digital mono mix in English and a Dolby Digital mono mix in Italian. Removable English subtitles have been provided. Both audio tracks are more than serviceable with the Italian audio mix being the stronger of the two audio tracks. The English audio mix does have a few instances that are only a few seconds in length in which the audio drops out. Also during the English dubbed track there is some text in Italian that appears on screen, but is left un-subtitled. These two audio tracks and the English subtitles are identical to those included on the No Shame DVD release.

Extras for this release include an Italian language theatrical trailer, no English subtitles (3 minutes 3 seconds – anamorphic widescreen) and an extensive stills / poster gallery with 48 images. Overall Blade of the Ripper returns to DVD via a well rounded DVD release from Mya Communication.

What version did you get?

DVD Trash 9th September 2010 04:52 PM

Loops, I got the version with the subs - as long as your version is still uncut - I'll swap you!

Pete 9th September 2010 05:17 PM

Aye, it's completely uncut!

DVD Trash 9th September 2010 05:23 PM

Cool, PM me your address and we can swap!

Pete 2nd December 2010 05:31 PM

I thought you had the set when you posted the pics of it.

Where did you find the avatar? did you just copy mine?

You will notice its a lot smaller when you do that.

Pete 21st July 2011 02:06 PM

Just noticed Raro USA are going to re-release NUDE FOR SATAN in september. I wonder if it'll include both cuts of the film?

bdc 21st July 2011 02:58 PM

You mean xxx-rated and "newly edited together" soft versions?
I don't think they will include the hard version.
Only wish they would find good materials of the original version...to make the xxx version the negative was apparently cut and the original scenes lost...except for some footage in a trailer.

Gojirosan 21st July 2011 03:37 PM

God! I've got a fair few Italian disks since I last posted in this thread: The Perfume Of The Lady In Black, The Cold-Blooded Beast, The Cursed Medallion...can't remember them all in fact!

Cheers.

My idea when i first joined was to try out a few avatars to see which was best and then stick with it.

I now have an avatar folder on my desk top with about 60 inside.

bdc 21st July 2011 06:47 PM

60 avatars?
I only use one (on all forums)...
