Believe it or not but the only titles i've managed to actually watch out of the ones i listed are Bay Of Blood, Dellamorte Dellamore and City Of The Living Dead.

The rest are all brand new and still sealed!:embarassed:

Some great stuff there bdc & Splat!

Here is my own modest collection of Italian delights (mostly Raro - as other companies are not as generous with either an English language or subtitle track as Raro seem to be!)

Nice ones BE!
There are actually a lot of English friendly Italian dvd's besides Raro! ;)
But Raro are the most English friendly I guess.
How's the picture quality of Stridulum?
I've been meaning to pick that up.

PS See you've also got Waves of Lust, bit of a Deodato fan?

Cheers bdc. :)

My shopping habits haven't brought me into contact with many Italian DVD companies which offer an English option. Raro being the main one, but I also know Alan Young, Cecchi Gori, 01 Distribution, RHV and NoShame Italy have a few releases with English options, which is good. I've used Bloodbuster a couple of times and there are some good Italian releases on there; many at pretty decent prices too.

As for Stridulum I thought the presentation was very good, it's just a shame about the film itself! Very bizarre, I (thought!) was pretty sure that I'd seen it before... wasn't what I expected/remembered though! I think Eyecatcher (?) have just released this too in sumptious hardbox form with three cover variants (1 being an oversize Ltd Edition) a la their Red Queen and Enigma Rosso releases. Could be wrong though.

Yes! I'm unashamedly a die-hard Deodato fan, and had to pick up Waves of Lust when I saw it going at a fairly reasonable price. There isn't a film of Deodato's that I've seen that I didn't like - I even have love for Dial:Help!

bdc 21st February 2010 08:13 PM

I'm a bit of a Deodato fan as well BE! ;)
Have you got the EMS dvd of Dial:Help?
I'm looking for the EMS Body Count dvd which seems to be not so easy to find anymore...

Yep, I've got the EMS release and was surprised at how good it was quality-wise. Got it pretty cheap too.

Like you I'm also after that particular Body Count DVD... Chainsaw used to stock it but I e-mailed Han a while back and he said that he didn't have any left. :(

If I do manage to track any down, I'll make sure to let you know! :)

bdc 21st February 2010 08:37 PM

Thanks BE! :)

Impressive stuff BDC! Love the covers!

I am just about to order that version of ...Solange? as it goes...

Is there an English friendly release of Caltiki anywhere?

I didn't even know EMS had released Body Count! Add me to the list of people trying to track it down! I so miss that scene when the kid falls off the cliff and it cuts to a stuntman they haven't even bothered to dress up like the actor!

bdc 22nd February 2010 07:01 PM

Thanks! ;)
The Italian NoShame dvd of Caltiki (pictured on page 1) is the only English friendly dvd, unfortunately it's oop.
But some may still be floating around somewhere...
The Italian Solange is a very nice release.

About the EMS Body Count:
I'm currently checking with some private collectors in Germany (I'm lucky that my German is good) and OMG.
An update will follow when I know more.

Why what was it originally titled mate?

bdc 25th February 2010 08:45 PM

"The Italian Dvd Thread"...

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 25th February 2010 08:47 PM

You want it reverted back mate?

bdc 25th February 2010 08:55 PM

Would be nice... ;)

broonage 26th February 2010 08:25 AM

What's the diff between that and the UK release (which I have I think)?

bdc 26th February 2010 09:27 AM

http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=2443

Stephen@Cult Labs 26th February 2010 10:12 AM

God,that's a hideous cover for Galaxy Of Terror. :ack:

bdc 26th February 2010 10:14 AM

Maybe not the best cover but the only widescreen release available for the moment. ;)
I'm not 100% sure but I think the UK disc is open matte (no idea about the picture quality/any good?)
Wonder what the new US release by Shout! Factory will be like?

Stephen@Cult Labs 26th February 2010 10:17 AM

Indeed. That'll change later this year, assuming that Shout Factory's release is in widesceen and uses the awesome poster artwork.

broonage 26th February 2010 11:37 AM

I don't think i'll upgrade. :)

Thanks bdc.

Make sure you watch the re-edited version.
