I think DiCaprio is a good actor, and has made some very good films -

Yeah I'm not saying all of his films are terrible, but there is just something about him as an actor that I find irritating. The Beach is a great film! Adam Sandler has even done a couple of films I'll admit to liking - Little Nicky and Airheads in particular, but on the whole (for a comedy actor) I don't find him funny. Conversely, if a film has Jennifer Aniston in, it is nearly always an indication that the film will make me want to vomit/poke my eyes out.

I've never really taken to DiCaprio. He's a terrible actor in my opinion, and has a history of some awful accents and roles (Gangs of New York, Titanic, The Aviator, Romeo and Juliet...). His appearance in a film always spoils it slightly, for me.

His best acting performance is one of his earliest films: The Basketball Diaries, in my opinion. However, Shutter Island was a rare film where Leo's presence didn't annoy me so much. Ditto Inception.

It's hard for me to understand what people see in him as an actor.

I think it all comes down to liking a film or not nowadays rather than say an actor/actress.
Back in the 80's when i first got into film you could pretty much like an actor and know you would love all their films. People such as Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood, Arnie, Van Damme, Willis, Stallone. In the present day this is not the case as stars such as DiCaprio, Pitt, Depp etc have a much more varied cv range and i certainly would not rush out to see a film anymore just because of its star.

From reading the thread most people seem annoyed by so called comedy actors who do tend to stay in their own genres, an example being Sandler and Aniston(who is still playing Rachel in every film i have seen , Derailed being an exception).

I am currently slogging my way through the complete set, just seen the first 2 episodes of series 8. It has lost a bit of comedy gold, but some of series 7 were just as funny as the early days.

I would like to nominate Jennifer Lopez to this list.

Wtf does she want to be? a crap actress or a shite singer, make your mind up, then you can bugger off out of one form of entertainment.

She seems to be more famous for having a fat arse than anything else.

Agree on both points.

Any bimbo could have been in Anaconda though, maybe one who could have taken their top off a few times. Roger Corman would have insisted on it.
