Do you regret it ? I dumped most of mine in 2000 when DVD came onstream and I totally regret it (so too a fantastic death metal collection when I was a kid). I have a few vids left but it brings a tear to my eye

Sometimes, but they took up far too much room.

With all due respect, this is something that you have to rectify at the earliest opportunity

It is a classic

I agree Suzi. Pacino is my favorite actor and he and John Cazale turn in wonderful performances but Chris Sarandon's role is not to be missed.

Okay I'll watch it right after I finish watching Murnau's Nosferatu (and after work).

My favourite moment in Dog Day Afternoon is that great scene when Pacino has the telephone conversation with Chris Sarandon...beautiful bit of acting...

I always thought John Cazale was an amazing actor. It's a shame he died so early, because I think he would've been as big as De Niro and Pacino.

I think he was married to Meryl Streep, wasn't he?

If not married, they were a serious item... There's a very good Cazale documentary out there that is well worth tracking down... He was pretty sick all thru Deer Hunter and it shows, but brilliant nonetheless... What a legacy to leave behind - Godfathers, Conversation, Dog Day Afternoon, Deer Hunter - some of the key films of New American Cinema...
