Been a while since I've seen but from what I remember yes of is worth watching .
Most horror along this lines from the 80s are worth watching IMO .

I watched it and another Arrow slasher over Christmas. - Blood Rage.

Here's what i briefly posted about The Mutilator.

The Mutilator (1984)

A teen who accidentally kills his mother with his father's gun is hunted down some years later at a beachside retreat by his deranged father. Like the earlier watched Blood Rage, The Mutilator is an indiependent regional production slasher, and whilst not quite as good (it lacks the non-stop pace of Blood Rage and at times is blotted by too much irrelevant chatter) still hits the spot in the twisted gore department.

And what i said about Blood Rage, which if you haven't seen it would be my preferred suggestion.

Blood Rage (1983)

A by the numbers slasher about twins who murder a couple at a drive-in theatre. One of the twins is found guilty and locked away the other released. But which was the actual killer? No one can tell them apart.

There's absolutely nothing to this American regional slasher that is remotely original, even the murders are telegraphed and yet i found it utterly entertaining and better than most of it's ilk. The acting borders on drama school standard but it's highly exploitative and the gore is inventive and lovingly applied in plentiful quantities. In a way it's similar to the brilliant Don't Open Till Christmas (1984) in that there's a murder every few minutes, and that after all, is what slasher films are all about.

At ~47min, however, the sight of a penis has been darkened.
