That's exactly how I feel about them.

The Return of Michael Myers is quite enjoyable really. It loses the directorial flourishes which made the original such a landmark film and becomes just another slasher really. However it does continue the Myers mythos and naturally has suites of the Carpenter score it also has a decent cast with the always watchable Pleasence and Ellie Cornell makes for a likeable heroine. |

But surely that's a good thing... especially where '80s horror films are concerned! |

I get where you're coming from...but it's just a little too OTT. The whole Stonehenge stuff is just silly.

Halloween III is the best John Carpenter film that he never Directed; well, not officially anyway. It benefits from having Dean Cundey as cinematographer, doing the night shoots. Tom Atkins is always good value.

Unhinged (1982) and Graduation Day (1981). Any thoughts on those two? |

They're nowhere near top-tier slasher territory, but I find both worthwhile in their own way. Unhinged is more of a plodding slow-burn, and whilst Graduation Day is also a little slow, it's more of the cheese-infused variety of slasher complete with dodgy disco soundtrack. |

I like both as well, with Graduation Day as slightly more formulaic and 'fun' than Unhinged. The 88 Films Graduation Day BD is very good.
