I thought as a thriller it was a decent film. Wasn't Straw Dogs though.

For me the 2 that really stand out as awful remakes are Assault on Precinct 13 and Rollerball. I mean, the first is a bone-fide indie classic and the second a very influential dystopian violent future-sports flick. The remakes sucked all the cool out of them and left a rotting hunk of plastic acting (well, it was Keanu!) and point-missing.

You can't blame Keanu for those two. He wasn't in either one.

I don't mind the Assault remake. It's no classic but it's a decent actioner.

Rollerball is poor in my opinion though. Then again so is the original.

I liked the Straw Dogs remake, but yeah, it's not a patch on the original

Original rollerball a great film good for its time and different.

But i did like death race 2000 remake, i mean original ok and a cult classic but to actualy watch it now it looks cheesy corny and dated etc.,
And the remake had its own spin to it where prisoners where racing for their freedom.
I enjoy some remakes if they play around with it a little and give their own spin like death race 2000, and not do a more or less exact sole less copy of the original.

I know he wasn't in the Assualt remake, but i could have sworn he was in the Rollerball one. I guess whenever i think of a bad film, i put him in the lead role.

Actually it was his 'Bill And Ted' co-star Alex Winter who was in 'The Lost Boys'!
