I know.

At the other extreme
The rather mawkish elements at play in Guardians
Never let me forget that I was watching a DISNEYFILM

Midlife crises arise perhaps?? ;)

Watched an extended clip of the Georgie vs Pennywise scene from the new It movie earlier (on Instagram via @jxdvn), it's fair to say Bill Skarsgard sounds creepy as hell and the dialogue is pretty much straight from the pages of the novel, roll on the 8th September  :woohoo:

I dunno. For me Guardians was very retro in that 80's way that seems populr right now (stranger things, anything where they employ synth scores ect.) The reasonably light tone of the Marvel movies in general is preferable to me than the aesthetic they forced on the DC movies where they seem to try and make everything 'mature' in a way that got boring when the one trick pony that is Frank miller stopped producing interesting material I would prefer Disney make more stuff like Something wicked this way comes, witch mountain or Black hole though.

Totally agree. TV went the same way a while back with the grimdark reboot of Battlestar Galactica.

Adult does not always equate to mature. Two different things and as you say, 'adult' these days looks a lot like teenage angst rather than 'mature'.

but the remake is far superior to the original , dont get me wrong i love it but has not aged well at all and is pretty cringeworthy at times. while on the whole the acting and writing of the reboot were top notch.

if they did it in the same style of the original you would get people moaning why didn't they try something different/orginial
