‘Hereditary’ Star Ann Dowd Joins the First Movie in Blumhouse’s ‘The Exorcist’ Trilogy / Bloody Disgusting "One of the next big horror franchises to get the reboot treatment is The Exorcist, with David Gordon Green (Halloween Ends) directing a brand new sequel for Universal, Blumhouse and Morgan Creek that will pave the way for a planned trilogy. The Hollywood Reporter states that Ann Dowd (Hereditary) is the latest actor to join the cast of the upcoming The Exorcist sequel. Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton, Knives Out 2) will star in the new Exorcist trilogy, the first of which is confirmed to be directed by Gordon Green. And Ellen Burstyn is back as Chris MacNeil. The first film in the trilogy will be released theatrically on October 13, 2023. The first plot details we were provided with last year tease, “Odom Jr. will play the father of a possessed child. Desperate for help, he tracks down Ms. Burstyn’s character.”." |
