Due to the new Mad Max film being released later this year our local cineworld and showcase are both doing a Madmax 1 and 2 double bill! I wanted to know if anyone else was going to see if the local cinema would be putting this on?

I want to get ticket's and will hopefully take the fiancee, she hasn't seen the films so it will be a great introduction i hope. I'm sure the date's will vary from cinema and city but i'd love to know how many CLabbers have/want to see these on the big screen. :)

Dave Boy 22nd April 2015 05:00 PM

I wanted to see this double bill at my local Cineworld but I am working on the date and it's too much rush to get to the cinema after work.

I was looking at showings of MAD MAX:FURY ROAD at cineworld. Is this film in 2D as well because my cinema only has 3D showings. Booo !

Cheers Inron. :thankingyou:

Now that's a trailer that gets me interested in a film.

Nordicdusk 26th April 2015 03:29 PM

Black Mass looks like its going to be great. I think a trip to the cinema is in order for that.

I never would of guessed that was Depp until the I saw the credits at the end of the trailer, in my eyes he is up there with Lon Chaney and that takes some saying.

Make Them Die Slowly 26th April 2015 08:53 PM

Depp reminded me of Michael Ironside in the trailer.

New version of the krays.

looks to Hollywood blockbuster for me and sometimes that ruins a film,

Krays with the kemp twins was great acting, story, everything was spot on and showed what the twins where really like,

I think it looks pretty good and credit to the casting people for finding someone who looks just like Tom Hardy to play the other Kray twin!

Like i said looks to Hollywood for me and not a toned down gritty story to seem more realistic, but at same time no doubt ill still watch it then end up saying its better than i was expecting :pound:
I like these type of films i realy enjoyed charlie starring luke goss.
I quite like mat and luke in some of the films their in they play their parts and characters really well.
Think the pair of them are decent actors.

San Andreas 3D Theatrical Trailer

Doesnt look like it based of the film but looks like the kinda shit micheal would do.

Trailer for the new Vacation movie. Looks ok I suppose. Probably wouldn't even watch it if Chase & D'Angelo didn't appear in some capacity.

I think it looks quite fun. I laughed a couple of times during the trailer. It looks a superior gross out comedy rather than a Vacation film though. It also appears too crude to be honest. I can't imagine watching it just before Christmas Vacation with the whole family on Christmas Eve.

HAHAHAHA! 'A rim job is where you kiss someone with your mouth closed' Haha! man i don't like crude films but that scene looked halarious! This may be a crimbo watch for me too.

Stephen@Cult Labs 8th May 2015 07:16 PM

That's the thing. It doesn't feel like a Vacation movie, just a run of the mill Farrelly Brothers/Judd Apatow clone.

Unrelated, but connected, it seems that two previously missing episodes of 'At Last The 1948 Show' have been rediscovered

No one seems to know if this is genuine or not, but if it is, can we expect a new version of 'The Addams Family' with Christina Ricci as Morticia?

When I went to see Legend (which left me surprisingly cold), it was preceded by trailers and, unusually, I wanted to see all of the films.

Sicario

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR0SDT2GeFg

Suffragette

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=056FI2Pq9RY

Macbeth

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q3EnDtbg8w

The Walk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=267zfVeymOY

The only one of the four which I was slightly unsure about was The Walk, and that's only because Man on Wire, the documentary about Philippe Petit and his extraordinary walk between the two towers of the World Trade Center, is such a brilliant piece of filmmaking that I'm not sure the dramatised film with Joseph Gordon-Levitt (the main role) can live up to it, or if it is going to be designed to be a showcase for 3-D land use that technology to emphasise how high up he was.

Suffragette hasn't had great reviews, but it's an important story and it has an impressive cast, so I'm going to do my best to see it similar. Macbeth looks stunning and Michael Fassbender is one of the rare actors who never seems to have an off day.

Justin101 22nd September 2015 10:31 AM

I want to see all 4 of those too!
Haven't been to the Cinema for a while and I hope I can get to see something this week :)

I was unimpressed with Inglourious Basterds (too long and too episodic) and underwhelmed with Django Unchained (too long and too referential), so I want to love The Hateful Eight and will go and see it with an open mind.

That trailer was also shown when I saw Legend and forgot about it until this morning. I thought it looked as it could be good, but has all the right ingredients to be utterly terrible.

I was distinctly nonplussed by it; the acting, costumes, set decoration and production design were all top notch, but I'm not sure the 'Goodfellas' approach to the subject matter worked as well as if it had been treated like The Long Good Friday, and was more gritty and violent. It's also a little weird because there are many times where I was unsure whether something was supposed to be funny or not – some of the stuff Ronnie Kray says is extremely peculiar, and probably was at the time.

However, two of the people I went with thought it was brilliant, and it has had some extremely positive reviews by the critics. It's definitely worth watching, if only for Tom Hardy's remarkable performance(s].
