I'll be interested to see how MACBETH compares to the Polanski one.

Me too. John Finch and Michael Fassbender are probably similar in their appeal to a straight female audience at the time of the respective films releases, but it appears the 2015 version has a significantly larger budget and slightly more 'decorated' cast.

One of the most interesting aspects will be the screenplay and how similar the two adaptations are to Shakespeare's play.

A Christmas Horror Story could be fun. Looks well up my B movie tongue in cheek horror alley. :)

Saw it at Grimm this year. will be posting a review up at some point. Short review is that its fantastic fun and shall stand alongside black christmas, rare exports and bad santa as essential xmas viewing.

80s style tongue-in-cheek horror flicks seem like they're making something of a comeback... I've already mentioned A Christmas Horror Story but Deathgasm (heavy metal meets Bad Taste splatter horror) and The Final Girls (moviegoers end up inside 80s slasher movie) look like they could be a lot of fun too... ;)

I've seen it quoted as being a 'Heavy metal Evil Dead' which has engaged my interest somewhat!

The possessed do come across very 'evil dead'. Its a real tribute to Metal and horror and very, very funny & gory.

I'm not a fan by any stretch of the imagination and i haven't seen an episode for years but it did have it's moments.

iank 24th October 2015 12:03 AM

Tales of Halloween is another that looks like it might be good - another Trick R Treat style horror anthology getting good reviews.
Turbo Kid is another one I want to see - 80s-style post-apocalyptic action flick with a BMX bike, Michael Ironside as the baddy and lots of gore. Also getting really good reviews!;)

Demdike@Cult Labs 28th October 2015 09:31 PM

Krampus, coming this Christmas from Trick r' Treat director Michael Dougherty looks interesting.

I saw the trailer to this recently and got quite excited, I only saw Trick r Treat for the first time a few months back and thought it was high calibre horror that is so missed today. I couldnt believe it flew under my radar for so long. Krampus looks great. Has this director churned anything else out decent I need see? There is an episode of Grimm about Krampus and eating children which was excellent!

Trick r' Treat has become a staple of Halloween viewing for many on here. A true classic.

Demdike@Cult Labs 28th October 2015 10:10 PM

There's an ad for Krampus on the back of Empire saying 'in cinemas December 2015' which is good.

Here's hoping it does well.

iank 29th October 2015 01:04 AM

Yes, that's another one on my "to see" list. :)

I saw the trailer a couple of weeks ago at the cinema and was going to put something about it here, but couldn't remember the title!

I thought it looked like it could be a fun and exciting horror flick.

Boo Radley 9th November 2015 05:45 PM

First there was I Spit on Your Grave by Meir Zarchi, then it was followed by the remake, a sequel to the remake and a third instalment, Vengeance is Mine, now comes yet another instalment. Damn, that's a lot of graves spat on!

This might interest you more though as it's directed once again by Meir Zarchi and starring Camille Keaton as Jennifer Hills. That's gotta be a really dodgy rape scene... It's called I Can't Spit, Got Any Lube? Ha! No, I jest! Really it's called ISOYG Deja Vu..... I think my titles better...:tongue1:

Definitely. And British too.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 9th December 2015 01:37 PM

I went to the cinema yesterday to see The Lady in the Van (very good, by the way) and it was preceded by trainers for Concussion, Room, Joy and The Danish Girl. You can tell awards season is coming because all the trailers for films which look to be for those which look like they (including the actors, screenwriters, cinematographers etc.) would be nominated for Oscars and other industry awards rather than summer blockbusters.
