Fantastic action films with some truly amazing set pieces and stunts better Bond type films than most if not all off the newer ones.

Christophe Gans Says New ‘Silent Hill’ and ‘Fatal Frame’ Scripts Are “Ready

A few years back, Brotherhood of The Wolf director Christophe Gans (and director of the first Silent Hill film adaptation) had mentioned plans to do another Silent Hill film, along with plans for an adaptation of Fatal Frame. Fast forward to today, and Gans has revealed that he now has a scripts in hand for both projects.

Speaking with Jeux Video (thanks, VGC), Gans revealed that he wrote the script during the COVID-19 lockdowns, and says that this new script will be unrelated to the previous two films. “I’m currently working on it,” the translated article reads. “There were the COVID-19 years which finally forced us to stay at home. I took the opportunity to write two scripts. The script for a new Silent Hill movie is totally independent from the two previous movies made and respects the way Silent Hill has evolved.”

In making the script independent from the previous entries, Gans likens the series to the Twilight Zone, in that it’s “a place where anything and everything can happen”.

Gans states that the Silent Hill script is for a film to be released in 2023. “I worked on a new Silent Hill which is a Silent Hill of the year 2023, since the film would be released next year… in 2023… and not a Silent Hill as I imagined it in 2006.”

“It is a Silent Hill for today’s audiences while being ultra respectful of the saga,” continues Gans. “I am aware that Silent Hill is a very great video game franchise and a work of art in the noble sense of the term. The people who thought up Silent Hill put a lot of their guts into it. To know them well, they are extremely honest people. For me, it was important to design a Silent Hill in the light of the current public.”

In addition, Gans mentioned the Fatal Frame project, which he aims to release in 2024 after the Silent Hill film. While Gans didn’t elaborate much on that project, he did say that the script was “ready”, having been written under supervision by the folks at Tecmo

Hercules Live Action Remake.

Guy Ritchie has boarded Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of Hercules.

Ritchie will direct the remake based on the 1997 film, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Ritchie previously directed Disney’s 2019 live-action Aladdin, which crossed the 1 billion mark at the global box office.

Dave Callaham, who wrote Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, penned a first draft of the script. The studio is currently in the process of searching for writers for the project.

Joe and Anthony Russo, the filmmakers behind Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War, are set to produce the film via their Agbo banner.

The original 1997 film, directed by Ron Clements and Jon Musker, offered a musical retelling of the Greek legend in which the hero must save Olympus from God of the Underworld, Hades. Tate Donovan voiced Hercules, while James Woods voiced Hades.

It's either laziness or simply studio execs who don't have a single original idea in their heads.

It's easier to market a known commodity, a film with a fan base and where people have heard of it and know what to expect than one which is brand-new and takes much more money and effort to make enough people interested for it to be profitable.

This means a lot of sequels, remakes, reboots, and franchises.

The Mutilator 2’: Sequel to 1984 Slasher Movie Has Wrapped Filming

All these years later, the 1984 slasher movie The Mutilator is getting an official sequel, and Bloody Disgusting has learned this week that The Mutilator 2 has now wrapped filming.

Buddy Cooper returned to write and direct the decades-later sequel to the slasher he made back in the 1980s, and we’ve been told the film will be completed in September.

Terry Kiser (Friday The 13th Part VII, Weekend At Bernies) and Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey At Night, Haunt) star alongside Ruth Martinez and Bill Hitchcock from the original.

Alexander Taylor (Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street, Isolation, Paramount Plus’s Unknown Dimension: The Story Of Paranormal Activity, Arkansas, Eli Roth & Jason Blum’s Crypt TV) has signed on to score the upcoming sequel, Bloody Disgusting has learned.

Taylor said in a statement, “I’m so honored and excited to be a part of The Mutilator franchise. One of the best parts of this is the fact that Buddy Cooper is back! It’s rare for a legacy film to have the original writer and director come back, so you know this is going to be special. Buddy and I already have some cool themes and wild ideas for the score.”

He clearly has no respect for Alfred Hitchcock's opinions on film length, and that's not a good thing.

it could be good the original was never the greatest film found the the first couple of sequals a lot better

Justin101 26th July 2022 10:43 AM

A lot of people mistake Children of the Corn as being a good film but is very mediocre. The 1st sequel is much more interesting and the 2nd sequel was ok too. It’s not the worst idea to reboot this franchise.

The original film is okay, but no masterpiece. The source material is very good and it is possible to make a better film than Fritz Kiersch's 1984 adaptation of Stephen King's short story.
