‘Halloween’ Rumor: David Gordon Green Returning to Direct Back-to-Back Sequels | Bloody Disgusting

"From what I’m told, not only will they be filming two sequels back-to-back, but they are discussing releasing both in the same month. Yes, it’s within the realm of possibility that we’ll see two Halloween films released in October 2020.

I know, I know, this sounds completely insane, but there’s a reason why I buy this – outside of the fact that I know and trust my source. There were discussions about shooting the first film back-to-back with a sequel prior to production being shut down in order to recalibrate the ending. Shit, the filmmakers had even joked about shooting a full-blown Halloween trilogy at one point."

Filming is due to begin in September - just in time for the leaves to start turning all Autumn-y!

Sam Raimi Working On Bruce Campbell ‘Evil Dead' Sequel

Sam Raimi hasn’t made a movie since 2013’s misbegotten “Oz The Great and the Powerful.” It’s time for the director of such classics as “Evil Dead II,” “Army of Darkness,” “Darkman,” “A Simple Plan,” “Spider-Man 2,” and “Drag Me To Hell” to make a comeback, don’t ya think?

Speaking to Bloody Disgusting, Raimi revealed that discussions are happening about a brand-new“Evil Dead” movie. The purported sequel would star Bruce Campbell and take place in what Raimi describes as the “original ‘Evil Dead’ line.”

“I’d love to make another one. I don’t think TV is in its future but we’re talking about – Bruce, Rob [Tapert] and myself – one or two different ways to go for the next movie,” Raimi said. “We’d like to make another ‘Evil Dead’ feature and in fact we’re working on some ideas right now.”

He concluded, “So I think you may see some action on the Evil Dead movie in the next six months.”

Didn’t Bruce say he was retiring Ash? Isn’t that what he said after the show ended? Was he just saying that because he was mad...
