I'm quite interested in it, visually it looks intriguing and I am a big fan of hardware and nic cage so yeah. Shame it took ****ing forever to release a trailer

They go quite out of their way to not state that the film is one shot but infact designed to work like one shot, so it's 2hrs of 'real time' but with very hidden edits so you can't tell that it was actually filmed conventionally. Really looking forward to it and will certainly see it on the big screen.

It’s not out until Mid Jan, it might be streaming in the US where I’ve seen very positive reviews but we can’t see it for another 3 weeks. I imagine something quite Lovecrafty with the building tension and ‘creeping fear’. Looking forward to seeing it.

Lighthouse has been on a limited theatrical run in the States. It opened mid October. Grossed $11.8m so far.

Cats appears to be a total flop.

I love how the final paragraph really goes clutching for straws by mentioning The Greatest Showman...a film which ended up a worldwide phenomenon.

Isn't that the point of the paragraph? They seem to be saying that you can't always judge a film by its pre-Christmas box office take, or necessarily by its critical reception, as it can go on to pick up steam and gain a lot of money during a long theatrical run after far from positive reviews.

Well the heavily praised Little Women opens in a couple of days time and i think that would appeal to a similar audience demographic as Cats so i think that may well simply blow the musical away. However, we'll see.
