There's only one film I am truly excited about seeing. You can keep your Prometheus's and your MIB 3. I cannot wait to see Paranorman. It looks so much fun!

Surprised to see Saw 9 on that list though Gag. I thought 8 was the last one. Mind you, if that is true, I say bring it on! Luv a bit of Saw!

Nordicdusk 21st May 2012 06:55 PM

Is Akira gonna happen because it seems to be on again off again all the time. Im worried about the finished result because its something very dear to me. I just dont know what to make of it all. With something like this no expense can be spared it would have to be very high budget to do it any justice. A low budget film would be so so bad.

the blob 21st May 2012 07:11 PM

I think a fair few of those are in rumour stage. No announcements I've heard to say for definite if Damon will do another Bourne film and the rights to Blade have gone back to Marvel I think.

Um...surely the last one was 'Saw 3D' (aka 'Saw VII')

What is 'Saw 8'?

I thought that ..
Its not that some people you like or dislike its just now and again certain actors just arent suited for certain films..what i found baffling most was Dicaprio for Akira the live action film...

This year also sees production (and hopefully the release) of Troma's Return to Class of Nuke 'Em High, directed by Lloyd Kaufman himself!

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

The term 'Tromaville Movie' has become somewhat of a catchphrase in this household to describe any film which is low-budget, gore filled and laughably bad!

PaulD 28th May 2012 10:04 AM

I'm a big Troma fan. Even when they're films are so unwatchably bad I can't help but admire their philosophy and the way they've managed to exist for nearly 40 years outside of the mainstream and still manage to get by.

the ones i've highlighted are dead, 28 Months Later isn't happening, Akira was deemed to expensive and nobody wanted to see Americans playing Japanese characters. Zombieland 2 is being turned into a TV show now.

We also have....

Oblivion
After Earth
Bullet To The Head
Pain and Gain
GI Joe 2
Red 2
Olympus Has Fallen.

Slippery Jack 27th January 2013 12:17 AM

Quite a depressing list of films there! As always though I'm sure the year will throw up more than its share of nice surprises. At the moment top on my radar is Ben Wheatley's A Field in England. Lenny Abrahamson's What Richard Did sounds good too - loved his last two films . . .

Daemonia 27th January 2013 12:46 AM

Scarface? They're doing a new Scarface? I'll tell you staright, that'll never work out. Trust me. It'll be a mess. They'll turn it into a black gangster type of affair which just won't work.

Can't be any worse than the Carlito's Way prequel!

I only listened to the theme of the Miami Vice film and that was enough to turn me off . Miami Vice had a time and place just like Scarface.

First trailer for Rob Zombie's latest film, The Lords of Salem.
Looks promising to me and decidedly creepy too

F*ck me, that looks good but in an "I raided the art house cinema" kind of way. I've seen some other clips that look like Kenneth Anger directing "Haxan" which can only be good.

Maybe but lets be honest there a clue to what type of film it is a chick flick hence a film for women and you are a women..So that's fine. There a bit of difference than a bloke watching them than actualy owning them watching with a women is fine a bloke owning them isn't.

Baseball Fury 30th January 2013 01:00 PM

What would be wrong with Scarface becoming a "black gangster affair"? De Palma already turned it into a Latin American gangster affair, so I don't really see what the difference is?

Busta Rhymes or Al Pacino - who do you think is the better actor? That's the difference.

(Plus we'd have to suffer a loathsome gangster rap soundtrack)

Halloween H20 vs Righteous Kill? I think Busta's got it! :D

As bad as Righteous Kill was (seriously, how do you **** up a film starring Pacino and De Niro?), I'd still take it over Halloween: Resurrection (H2O doesn't have Busta in it ;) ).

Baseball Fury 31st January 2013 12:50 PM

Haha, I got mixed up with LL! But yeah, Righteous Kill was pretty much the biggest disappointment of my film going life.

Oh yes, I forgot LL. He who's acting 'talents' were on display in Deep Blue Sea (an otherwise decent killer shark movie).
