I actually thought the remake was pretty good too.

I own and enjoyed the remake.

I think it's because Attenborough looks like a snivelling little jumped up shit might be one of the reasons i've never seen it. Plus it's never had a great print at least in the early days.

The dvd's for Brighton Rock are all quite good in the PQ dept and the later re-release by Optimum Home Entertainment/Studio Canal on dvd and blu were again a step up,although negligible differences between the dvd and its blu ray counterpart. Its a must for any British noir fans,and fans of classic British cinema.

I was looking at that version the other day. There's a few in that series i'd like so hopefully this time next week i might own it.
