No, you're not alone, I've never been able to quite fully grasp what's going on in Dust Devil, even though I have a fairly good idea. I think.
Still a buy for me though.

Anyone who's a fan of Richard Stanley should read his segment in the book 'British Horror Cinema'.
Jesus, what this guy did for his art!
A sad tale of censorship in Britain at the time.

An unsung hero of British cinema Mr.Stanley-we salute you!

Anyway-what the hell happened to the BD release of this-anyone know?

It's disappeared from the planet....

Germany's MTM Records were apparently going to release a Mediabook of Dust Devil but had to cancel the project as it would appear that another company is going to be doing just that soon - so says the Google translation:

Quote:
Good day everybody!

So now I have to write something which I indeed difficult, but where I'm happy about it I was so careful with the order!
We have a film company contact had the day because we wanted to know what (had nothing to do with Dust Devil).
This company asked me if we were the label wanted to release the Dust Devil.
Then had a long conversation with the company who told me how it looks with the rights of the film.
Good thing we had problems with the master, we almost dug our own grave us ..........

The fact is that not the right there where we have negotiated and is also a fact that this film company currently negotiating with MGM and the director is on for a reasonable publication.
Fact is that I'm pissed and I could puke really for the indifference of the people who wanted to sell us the publication.
I would have driven almost to the publication of my demise.

Therefore, it is unfortunately give MTM no public disclosure of Dust Devil!
There will soon be a but are at an advanced stage of another film company because of the license.

We apologize to the people who have been looking forward to the Mediabook.
However, we continue to look and already find a movie we may present to you, a must we really make then and no Taubert, promised

I love Dust Devil so the prospect of a BluRay is exciting for me.

I agree with others commenting on the slow pace and suspect plotting but this works in the film's favour, in my opinion. It, combined with the visuals and soundtrack, creates a dreamlike atmosphere - one that isn't meant to be fully understood but to be swept along with instead.

Well, that's what I got from it. I could just be talking out of my arse.
