Default Killer Plants!

Hi everybody,

With the brand new and utterly terrifying eco-horror film, The Bay coming out in cinemas on Friday, what better excuse than to talk about Mother Nature Striking Back movies...especially killer plants!

So what are the greatest Plants Vs Man movies? Vote for yours above and share your thoughts below.

Don't miss out on The Bay. Directed by the guy behind Good Morning, Vietnam, Toys and Rain Man, The Bay will have your skin crawling and you reeling at the sight of water. Remember, #DontDrinkTheBayWater !

The 1986 Little Shop of Horrors of course! I've always loved that film and it's oddly missing from my dvd/bluray collection.

I have a soft spot for the original BBC adaptation of Day of the Triffids. I actually thought the wobbly bbc prop shop monsters worked really well...!

I love The Ruins.

Its not over the top, has good characterization and a brilliant setting (Top of a Mayan ruin). Cool icky gore as well.

A fine film.

I saw a made for cable film recently - Mandrake. That was enjoyable as well. Unfortunately the Mandrake is cgi but its a decent film with some cool action scenes. It stars Benito Martinez from The Shield and Sons of Anarchy.

I posted stills here. http://www.cult-labs.com/forums/gene...tml#post315703

Many years ago I had this odd obsession with making models out of wire and acrylic wall filler from the pound shop. Here's a BBC Triffid I made for the garden . . .

Can't go wrong with the BBC's productions either.

Both Day of the Triffids and the Tom Baker Doctor Who story The Seeds of Doom are both classics of seventies tv.

Indeed! When they have to use the (blunt) knife to cut the roots out of themselves top body horror right there . . .

I was told The Ruins was a load of rubbish so have never gotten around to watching it. Sounds pretty amazing from what you've both said though!

And SJ, those Triffids you made are incredible! Fantastic work!
