The 'Lucio Fulci Presents' films
 

A.K.A. films Fulci was involved with or those which featured his name as a sort of "selling point."

Films such as The Curse, The Red Monks, Hansel E Gretyl and Andrea Bianchi's Massacre.

These seem to be a lot harder to come by, at least here in the States, so I was wondering how many here had seen these films and what the general consensus was amongst you all?

To my knowledge, I only own a bootleg of Massacre and The Curse amongst these, so there's still quite a few left for me to acquire/view. I'm assuming most of these have an English dub, yet their worldwide release via any of the 'big" DVD companies has thus far eluded us as film collectors.

Do you think more companies should try and license these films for release, instead of bundling or re-releasing safer, sellable titles to the (admittedly unpredictable) market? Which ones would you like to see released by Shameless, Arrow, Synapse, Severin or Mondo Macabro?

Of those listed i only own The Red Monks.

I really like it. Its a slow burning semi-Gothic horror and the monks deal in sacrifices.

On the whole though, i think i'm on my own in liking it.

Not really as I like it as well.
The fact that's a Knights Templar connection helps. ;)

The Curse (1987) (aka The Farm) – Fulci was credited as co-producer on this H. P. Lovecraft adaptation, based on The Colour Out of Space, which was directed by David Keith. Fulci also supervised the gore effects.

The Murder Secret (1988) (aka Non avere paura della zia Marta / Don't Be Afraid of Aunt Martha, aka Aunt Martha Does Dreadful Things) – Fulci was credited as co-producer on this film directed by Mario Bianchi and also supervised the gore effects.

The Red Monks (1988) (aka I Frati Rossi) – Fulci fought in vain to have his name removed from this film's credits; the film was directed by Gianni Martucci whom Fulci claimed he never even met, and Fulci was credited with handling the film's special effects, which he denied having been involved with.

Massacre (1989)(aka The Death of the Medium) – Fulci lent his name as co-producer on this film directed by Andrea Bianchi, although he claimed he was hardly involved at all with making it.

Bloody Psycho (1989) (aka The Snake House, aka Lo Specchio / The Mirror, aka Nel Nido del Serpente / In the Nest of the Serpent) – Fulci lent his name as co-producer on this film directed by Leandro Luchetti; Fulci's involvement is dubious.

Escape from Death (1989) (aka Luna di Sangue/ Moon of Blood) – Fulci lent his name as co-producer on this film directed by Enzo Milioni; Fulci's involvement is dubious.

Hansel and Gretel (1989) (aka Non Si Serviziano i Bambini / Don't Torture the Children) – Fulci was said to have co-directed this film with Giovanni Simonelli; Fulci's involvement is dubious." (Wikipedia)

I enjoyed The Curse, but found Massacre to be pretty trying overall.

How's The Murder Secret? Is that Dutch DVD still available? There's a listing on Amazon, but it's status is "unavailable."

Massacre and The Murder Secret are enjoyable low budget films imho...if you're into trashy and sleazy late 80's Italian cinema. ;)

Both dvd's (EC Entertainment) are long oop but pop up occasionally.

That actually looks quite good! If anyone has an extra copy of this (and The Murder Secret) they would be interested in selling/trading, I'm all ears!
