That's more than one

Not seen either version of ISOYG

Thought the MBV remake worked really well, and DOTD was pretty good. Thought TCM was glossy over-stylised rubbish though . . .

to a degree you're (actually!) right about the TCM remake
after all it was produced by Michael Bay

Oh yeah I'd forgotten he was involved. Yeah, it's a bit too 'horror for the multiplex kids' for me. Interesting how it was shot by the same cinematographer as the original (Daniel Pearl), bet that was a first . . .

i prefer Romero's original anyday even though the DAWN remake was good
but that was made for the 'multiplex kids'/MTV crowd as well
money, money...

Like the first three but IMHO the fourth was horrible and really was a letdown from what the original was. It just didn't get it or have the impact, it was just...shallow.

One has to wonder....why? Why remake a film that's already pretty much perfect as it is. It just seems pointless. Now taking a film that had a great idea but was poorly executed and remaking it I can understand. But why remake the good films?

Only plus point is Sam Raimi directing IMO, as much as I enjoyed his takes on Spider-man, I much prefer his Horror output

Hmmm I wasn't that keen on Drag Me To Hell personally. Felt like that thing of 'director gets old and loses his BALLS!' - something Friedkin doesn't seem to have succombed to . . .
