Horror's Greatest Comebacks

6 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

With Chucky returning from the grave to do some more killing in Curse Of Chucky, what are some of your favourite comebacks of horror's greatest icons?

Whether it be a remake, a reboot, a 're imaging' or a brand new sequel (like Curse), as long as it's a film that brought back some of the best horror icons. Obviously, when there's money to be made, most of these icons don't stay down for long!

There's plenty of awful comebacks out there. I'd put Chucky as one of the finest - just below the Evil Dead remake and above TCM. A million miles above the other awful remake/reboot whatevers of Freddy, Jason and Michael.

So what are yours? Vote for your fave out of the above in the poll (these are just some that have sprung to mind!) and discuss below :)

Deadites in the new evil dead, heard good things about the new chucky but haven't seen it yet.

Before getting down into modern stuff, I think John Carpenter's reimaging of John W. Campbell, Jr's Who Goes There ? via the Howard Hawk-produced The Thing From Another World must reign supreme. Cronenberg's film of The Fly of course and I like The Blob remake as well...

If we're talking about older comebacks I totally agree with you there Wes! I suppose The Fly was a horror icon with the number of sequels, but Cronenbergs remake is one of the best horror films of all time.

I guess you could also include Prometheus on this list too - although that's more sci-fi

Thought it was a good return to form... no comedy just death. Not so much a re-imagining as some of those on the list. It just changed where it was set but the story remained much like the first three "Childs Plays".
