Jesus mate-you're a pup!

I rented the original Warner/UA big box when it was first released when video shops didn't give a shit about age!

Stick a fag in your mouth and they'd rent you an Electric Blue Hollywood Housewives....

I always wanted to get the full size doll of Chucky when I was younger. Only knew about it because I know of someone who bought their son and daughter one, but they were scared of it so they put it in the corner of the room facing the wall. I was dead jealous. If I had a Chucky I would tuck him into bed every night and give him on kiss on the cheek. He is such a cutie.

If memory serves, the original 'Child's Play was rated 15 at the cinema

I remember our local newspaper, The Portsmouth Evening News', giving it a really scathing review, and saying that it was so hideous, it should have been rated 18 (at least)!

You're right about the 15 rating. I saw the first one on original release when I was 21 and thought it was a bit tame but I've come to love it over the years.

8 or 9 for Bride of Chucky? Man, I was into my 30's when that one came out...I'm guessing you don't really remember VHS either? (Not a criticism just wondering, because by the time Bride of Chucky came out DVD was taking over)

And to really show my age, I remember when colour TVs were just becoming all the rage (and I still remember having a black and white TV at home and being awe-inspired when Dad came home with a colour set).

Nope, not really Dae. The only VHS I originally watched was kids stuff - Disney mainly. I do remember there being a rental in our local newsagents, but that's it really. I have a few other really vague VHS memories but nothing proper.

Not too sure why I think VHS is as cool as I do - I guess it's nostalgia for something I missed out on perhaps. It's a little bit weird - explains the strange looks I get looking through boxes of VHS at boot fairs!

Totally agree Reaps! Although the Chucky artwork for the DVDs isn't too bad - there's worse examples that's for sure
