  1. Apocalypse Now Blu (cos it's my favourite film)
  2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Blu (cos it's my favorite Horror film)
  3. Crash Japanese laserdisc (for it's fetishistic power)
  4. Weekend DVD (cos it was the first foreign film I saw and was completely amazed that they made things like this)
  5. Performance DVD (cos it blew my mind when I first saw the film in the early 90's)
  6. Solaris Blu (cos Tarkovsky is my favourite director and it made me buy a Region 1 Blu-Ray player just to have the Criterion Blu)
  7. Zombie Flesh Eaters DVD (cos it was my first taste of European Cult Cinema and I never looked back)
  8. TGV (Throbbing Gristle DVD set, cos they are my favorite band)
  9. The Chelsea Girls DVD (cos I love Warhol and the Factory)
  10. Nightmares In A Damaged Brain VHS (it's the only Video Nasty I still own)
Great list, and great reasoning, Wes.

Except he'd need to take at least three different machines to play them on. - A laser disc player, a video and a multi region Blu-ray player.

The missus could carry those out for him.

If the house ever went up in smoke or suffered some other cataclysm and I lost my collections - my films, my music, my books, I'd probably be carted off to the puzzle factory - that sounds completely shallow, but seriously these thing matter...

Actually the first thing I'd grab because I couldn't replace it, is my copy of William Burroughs' The Third Mind, signed by the great man himself...

I will respect you forever mate. I love this film so much i alienate myself from my family and cat's when i join the Wednesday meal night in our house, wearing a dead woman's face and carrying an Argos chainsaw with 'The Saw Is Family' written on the blade with a sharpie.

Sadly, after being in a BIG fire in a block of flats, I know that there is not always enough time to save anything

In 2004, I literally lost everything I owned due to the stupidity of a neighbour, who went out clubbing, with lots of drink and drugs, who came home in the early hours of the morning, and decided that she was going to cook some chips in her deep-fat fryer...

I didn't even have time to get any clothes or money before the fire brigade made me leave

Then I was screwed by the insurance company, who stated that they weren't going to pay out, due to a paragraph in the 'small print' in our policy

I'd probably grab:

Zombie Flesh Eaters
Witchfinder General
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
City of the Living Dead
Tenebrae
The Exorcist
Halloween
Dawn of the Dead
The Thing
Evil Dead II

On another day I may grab a completely different ten.
