Film's you would grab to save in a house fire.

It's a little morbid however having been in a small house fire i feel I'm the man to put this question to the folks here. simply put, if you had time to grab '10' film's from your leagues of VHS, DVD's, Blu-Rays , Laser Disc, Betamax and everything else you can play a copy of dawn of the dead on... what would you take.

Please include your guilty pleasures too, we won't judge you, after all, you're in a tight spot. Haha.

Vipp.

That would take to much time trying to find the films you want so just grab as much as you can as quick as can.

I'd probably burn to death thinking which ones to save. :decision:

When i was in my small house fire i saw my 'Wall' of vhs go up in flames and i literally couldn't bare the thought of the art work being lost to the fire so i grabbed a few films. (also lost my eyebrows so if your in this situation just run away from the burning yellow stuff and replace what you loose)

In no particular order -

Dawn of the dead
The Silence of the Lambs
The Wicker Man
The Burning
Maniac Cop
Faust 'Jan Svankmejer'
El Topo
Bad Taste
Howl's Moving Castle
Spirited Away

I'd just grab my Kindle with over 700 books on it. Not forgetting a lead to charge it with.

What good are dvd's if you can't play them.

Good point, I'd grab my guitar collection so I could at least still gig to raise money for a new film collection

I think The Burning and The Wicker Man would be the last films i wanted if my house had burned down.

Great thread Vipp !

Wow, lets see...
  1. Apocalypse Now Blu (cos it's my favourite film)
  2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Blu (cos it's my favorite Horror film)
  3. Crash Japanese laserdisc (for it's fetishistic power)
  4. Weekend DVD (cos it was the first foreign film I saw and was completely amazed that they made things like this)
  5. Performance DVD (cos it blew my mind when I first saw the film in the early 90's)
  6. Solaris Blu (cos Tarkovsky is my favourite director and it made me buy a Region 1 Blu-Ray player just to have the Criterion Blu)
  7. Zombie Flesh Eaters DVD (cos it was my first taste of European Cult Cinema and I never looked back)
  8. TGV (Throbbing Gristle DVD set, cos they are my favorite band)
  9. The Chelsea Girls DVD (cos I love Warhol and the Factory)
  10. Nightmares In A Damaged Brain VHS (it's the only Video Nasty I still own)
