Any Laserdisc collectors?

Does anyone here collect horror Laserdiscs?

I'd always been fascinated by them so bought myself a player about a year ago and started up a little collection. I probably have about 50 horror films on laserdisc now, some Japanese, American and European releases.

My favourites are my Italian horror ones, there are some beautiful gatefold releases for films like City of the Living dead.

I had a fairly sizeable collection but flogged most if it off 15 years ago. Still have a few left that err signed to me.

Had a nice little delivery from Japan today containing The Deadly Spawn, Jason Goes to Hell and Demons 2 laserdiscs.

The Deadly Spawn is missing the spine card but is still a really nice addition to my collection.

If anyone here is interested you can see what discs I have at the following link: LaserDisc Database - Collection > All > By Title

Nice collection, always thought pan-scan on a LD was a bit cheeky.

Yeah, it's surprising how many discs are pan and scan. I love Japanese discs but so many aren't in wide screen. Later releases nearly always are though and some look so good they almost rival DVD.

Pre-1990 most LDs were and and scan, which is fair enough because people just weren't used to Letterboxing there and most people would have been ignorantly happy. I always thought it was odd that US studios issued a lot of films with the choice of separate FS and WS releases. I guess some people had bought HUGE rear projection 4:3 sets and wanted to utilize the entire screen.

I have a fairly large collection of import horror lasers. Will have to get some pics up.
