Default Texas Chainsaw Movies continuity?

Is there any way to fix the continuity of these films so that they all fit in to one time line?

Obviously we now appear to have two alternative sequels to the first film which I can't really see anyway to connet up and then Leatherface TCMIII assuming this is even meant to be an actual sequel rather than a reboot.

Considering what a classic the first film is, this is probably one time when they really should have left the film as a stand alone title.

We live in a age where the film industry is so dire and stuck for ideas nothing can be a stand alone film anymore without a reboot, sequels, franchise, remake, tv series.
But yes i agree with you.

The list of horrors films let alone ordinary films that should have been stand alone films or just a trilogy is endless but oh no they cant stop there
