The ones supermarkets sell for carving are bitter and or tasteless in comparison to the ones you eat. Really stringy too.

Difficult to describe. It's quite sweet and watery. A little like a marrow/courgette in that respect, but sweeter and probably something of an acquired taste.

I've never eaten one of the big ones from a supermarket, but I've been told the smaller, homegrown-type, ones are generally tastier and juicier. As such, a squash is probably more palatable than a large pumpkin.

Definitely.

I thought the bigger wild birds might like pumpkin seeds but they just ignore them and i end up with orange mush on the bird table.

I can't decide yes or no. Usually when i do it pours down every Halloween and the candle never stays lit.

Here's my other ones. The first was quite primitive but i got more creative over the years.
I will be, yes.

I did some 'munchkin' pumpkins last year and lined them up in the front window to glare at passers by.

Will you take a pic of whatever you carve please?

I'm sure we'd all love to see it.
