So the original nanny isn't just another disciple and protector of wee Damo? and until that dog told her to go and hang herself was actually just your run of the mill standard non satan worshipping nanny ?

Think so just watched that part again and she's seems quite normal until the dog appears.

Victor Frankenstein (2015)

A good looking, nicely acted film that re-imagines Frankenstein's relationship with servant Igor.

The problem is that i'm not sure who it's actually aimed at. There's nothing remotely chilling or scary going on, although the monster when it finally comes to life in the last ten minutes looks suitably impressive, it's all simply too late. So if it's not setting out to appeal to horror fans then who?

Evil Breed: The Legend of Samhain (2003)

If you can somehow ignore the often pitiful acting then there's a fair bit of fun to be had with this low budget piece of nastiness. Although it attempts to educate in the traditions of Halloween / Samhain it certainly is no Trick r' Treat (2007).

Gory highlights include a guy having his intestines ripped out via his arse, a large breasted porn star (Known as the breeder) shackled to a cave wall naked with an aborted fetus dangling from between her thighs, and Jenna Jameson - bound to a stone slab as a cannibal guts her and attempts to chow down on one of her silicon breast implants.

A film probably not for everyone to be honest but it's one i return to this time of year and definitely prefer it's low budget shoddiness to the studio muddle of Victor Frankenstein.

Ogre 2008.

A group of people in search of a urban legend about the village of Ellinswood, discover the inhabitants haven't aged since 1800s and live in fear of a Ogre who they send sacrifices.

Made in a ploy like 2001 maniacs, this was a made for TV movie, I was expecting it to be crap but was decent, not the greatest CGI effects of the ogre and at times it's like claymation. It's not one to take serious even with the acting but some decent killings. John Schneider is in a decent part of the village elder, will say its better than half the films that have been on the SYFY channel.

Have you seen Wyvern?

I really like that one. For a sci-fi channel movie it's pretty impressive. Great SFX in my opinion.

Should be dirt cheap on Music Magpie if you want to check it out.

Bah! Work and stuff has been interrupting my viewing these last few days.

12.FRANKENSTEIN (1931)
Love the opening graveyard scene. So atmospheric with the stone reaper behind. The first time you see the monster, when he turns in the doorway is just awesome.

13.ELVIRA MISTRESS OF THE DARK (1988)
How can you not love Elvira. This, the he best of Elvira's movies is full of double meanings and classic boob jokes. "Grab a tool and start banging.."

14.THE CREEPING FLESH (1973)
Peter Cushing finds that getting water on a huge skeleton is not a good idea, and injecting his daughter with a serum to protect against the evil was a mistake. Great scene where Cushing sees the monster in silhouette in the pouring rain.

Had some time but didn't want anything too gruesome, so decided to watch Kong: Skull Island which is still a bit toothsome in parts as various scientists, soldiers and civies get chowed down on by monsters on Kong's secret island. It's ok as these things go with Samuel J doing one of his slightly deranged roles and John C Reilly being really good as is his wont. Tom Hiddleston is ridiculously good looking in this film - so much so that i'm imagining that we never saw his personal assistant following him around the jungle touching up his carefully sculpted hair. Hope he/she made it out with the other survivors...

Scream Blacula Scream 1973.

Vampire Mamuwalde is awoken by Voodoo and goes on a blood lust killing spree.

Decent sequel movie to Blacula, it does have it's horror and funny sides to it, Willam Marshall returns as the Prince Mamuwalde and Pam Grier as Lisa who may be charmed by Prince. Both main lead roles do play well together, even if it's not a big budget movie it's still entertaining, definatly one to watch.

30 Days of Unseen Horror

Day 7

Attachment 219723

A young couple taking the last train home on the London underground find a man collapsed on the steps on the station the female wants to help the man but her hard-nosed New Yorker boyfriend has seen it all before and tried to convince her he is just a drunk but she is determined to help. After so debate she talks him into at least checking for a diabetes card just incase but all he finds is the mans card saying he is an OBE. They report it to a police man passing by but by the time they return the body has disappeared with no more trains that night and no other way out of the station the girl is even more frantic about the situation. When the report is handed to the inspector he takes special interest in the case mainly because of the missing mans title saying its not like a normal member of the public where you can just it it in a file and forget about it. In the mean time other people are going missing in the same station and when an expert is drafted he reveals a dark past of the underground where the roof collapsed and trapped the worker. Could someone or something have survived the collapse and are they preying on lone travellers at night.

Death Line has a lot to offer with a great premise and a dark tone that is until Donald Pleasance character who plays the Inspector arrives. As funny and odd ball as he is with his eccentric ways and obsession with tea most of the film centers around his ramblings and constant shouting like some sort of effort to create comic relief which dint really work for me it was very conflicting with the overall tone of the film. His character would of worked better if he didnt take up so much screen time and they focused on the madman in the underground or the couple themselves.

There are some great scenes in the underground where we visit the lair of the madman and get a glimpse into his life down there and we get a better understanding of why he is doing the thing he is doing and in certain parts you start to feel for him even with the horrible things he is doing. But sadly these scenes are shirt lived and soon we are rushed back to the police station for more of the Inspectors antics. There is one scene with some decent kills that if we had seen a few more of these it would of made it a much better film.

Overall its a decent film but it could of been much better. With more focus on the killer or the missing people.
