I watched Deathgasm last night, procured through dubious methods shall we say :hide:

It was pretty good, gory in a Peter Jackson early days way and a great soundtrack that included tracks of the first Emperor album which is always good! The 'metal god fantasy' scenes made me laugh, especially the girl one as she listened to some power metal on her CD walkman :bananarock: and one very niche joke in particular made me laugh when the Zakk said "I'm going to do a Burzum, solo project!"

I'll definitely pick up the DVD when it comes out :)

Well, I watched Behind The Candelabra(2013, Steven Soderbergh).
Horrible in a less predictable way, this contains many highlights. A manipulative, fading star tries to hold onto his youth by remodelling his conquests in his own image.

What Jess could have done here truly boggles the mind, my mind at least.;)

Will make you terrified of gold lame short shorts.

I found the narration to be distracting in this case rather than add to the film. I think it was more to do with her voice than what she was saying, she had a very soporific tone which helped me tune out rather than pay attention! However the selection of clips was good, a little too much J-horror maybe to the point where it started registering and I was thinking 'another Japanese horror film i've not seen!'

I wish I had re-watched Slice & Dice instead!

Just looked up Fear Itself on imdb.com. Looks interesting! Is it only available to watch in the UK?

You may get it on BBC America?

I thought the use of narrator on Fear Itself was quite clever. The voice was so calming, at odds with what was being shown on screen, that it created a dreamlike atmosphere. I imagine it'd be even more effective if watched around midnight when the eyes are starting to close.
