I actually (slightly) preferred Kolobos to Mindflesh.

Mindflesh was an interesting little film though, mostly due to its imaginative concept - the trippy visuals and mind-****ery were certainly the high-lights. However, this was off-set by some terrible acting that made me physically cringe at times. Bizarrely, the film reminded me a lot of Cube 2, in as much as it had imagination and high aspirations, however didn't have the budget or the talent to carry them through to effective fruition and as a result was a little haphazard and sloppy. Plenty of fun to be had with it all the same though.

I do indeed!

It was a long overdue watch (I'd been meaning to get to it for a few years) but I wasn't disappointed. In many ways it's more of a dark thriller than a straight up horror film. The performances are all pretty solid and it's a fairly gripping little film.

I'm thinking of maybe posting an expanded rundown of everything I've watched after Halloween with some stills and a brief plot synopsis - hopefully some people may find some stuff they feel like checking out (poster art and nothing much else doesn't really cut it).

After that I'll be diving straight into my 'Noir November'. I rejigged my Love Film rental list today in preparation. I'm toying with the idea of creating new threads somewhere to run down some of these monthly themes I'm planning on doing... I may just shove my Noir marathon thoughts in the general Noir thread though.

I'm intrigued by the Noir-month.

What do you intend on watching? Bogart and the classics or obscure films from distributors like Kit Parker?

Perhaps a mixture of the two. I'd definitely recommend some of the noir's produced by Hammer in the fifties.
