Default FrightFest 2015

Hi everyone,

It's the August Bank Holiday which means one things to UK Horror fans - FrightFest!

Over 5 days (Thursday - Monday), London's Leicester Square is showing a whole bunch of horror films. I think this year may be the biggest yet - spread over a couple of cinemas with a great mix of movies (old classics and upcoming stuff).

So, here's a thread dedicated to the discussion of FrightFest 2015.

Are you going? Which films are you watching?

It's my sixth year at the London Frightfest and must say that it has been the hardest year to pick what to watch due to conflicting screenings.

So far this year my favorite movies have been the 80's throwback Turbo Kid, the Argentinian movie The Rotten Link, Vampire comedy Bloodsucking Bastards and We Are Still Here.
There were a few other worthwhile watches including the French remake of Rabid Dogs, Dominic Brunts Bait, Shut In, Worry Dolls, Never Let Go and Deathgasm.

Tomorrows highlights for me are watching Sergio Martino's Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key on the big screen and Barbara Crampton Reanimated where she talks about her career in movies.

A great selection of films there, Monkey. Hopefully you'll see a lot more of Turbo Kid, Bloodsucking Bastards, We Are Still Here and a bunch of others over the coming weeks/months!

Turbo Kid and Deathgasm are my personal faves so far. They're so much fun!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, dude. Your Vice is going to be a great experience!

So after two years away (I visited Fantasia in 2013 and 2014) it was back to London for Frightfest.

This was my first time since the move to the Vue and while the atmosphere of the Empire's big screen was sadly missing the festival has become much bigger with almost 70 films and strong attendance from the cast and crews.

My adventures in Berlin and Hamburg meant that I had already seen

These Final Hours
Bite
Body
Demonic
Frankenstein
Hallow
Howl
Nightfare
Nina Forever
Rabid Dogs
Scherzo Diabolica
Some kind of Hate
Stung

which greatly ease the decision about what to see on the discovery screens. In the end I watched

A Christmas Horror Story
Awaiting
Bait
Curve
Deathgasm
Diabolical
Emilie
Future Shock
Hellions
III
Inner Demons
Jeruzalem
Landmine Goes Click
Lesson
Night of the Deb
Road Games
Shut In
Sun Choke
Tales of Halloween
We are Still Here
Hawk the Slayer
Hellraiser
Stung

and for the first time in a long time I can honestly say I didn't see a bad film in London. Although its also worth commenting that there weren't any great films (unless you count Hellraiser) this year - although that seems to be in common with every other festival I have attended so far in 2015.

My highlights

Bait - a quite brilliant second film from Emmerdales Dominic Brunt
Future Shock - documentary on the history of 2000A.D. and the comics wider pop culture impact
The Lesson - school teacher tries hard to educate his wayward students
Hawk the Slayer and Hellraiser
