Default DVD Commentaries

I was chatting to someone the other day who asked me if anyone actually listened to the commentaries on dvds...I do (should i hang me head in shame?)...

So i just wondered what peoples favourite commentary tracks are...

Some of mine are:

The Ghastly Ones / Seeds of Sin (Something Weird) with Hal Borske and Frank Henenlotter (as a Milligan fan and yes i am hanging my head in shame at that one, this commentary if just too damn funny), in fact the commentary is probably better than the movie.

I Spit on Your Grave (Elite Millenium), the Joe Bob Briggs track rather than the Zarchi, in fact almost any Joe Bob Briggs commentary is good for a laugh.

Almost any David Friedman commentary on the SWV dvds...although he often goes over the same ground, they're never boring, not to me anyway.

The Thing with John Carpenter and Kurt Russell, the stories about Brimley are priceless...

To be honest, i'm just hoping people list some that i might not have listened to that are worthwhile...

I love the Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness commentaries and Kevin Smith commentaries are usually pretty funny!

Been a while since I've listened to a commentary.

I've listened to all the Bey Logan commentaries on th Hong Kong Legends and Dragon Dynasty releases. They are about the only com tracks I will listen to every time there is a new one released.

I also like The Thing commentary with Carpenter & Russell, but for me even more fun is the one they did for Big Trouble In Little China.

The Evil Deadfilms coms are a lot of fun too.

The Evil Dead one's are great, which reminded me of the "Bubba Ho Tep" commentary, i think its an Easter Egg, with Bruce Campbell doing the entrire track as Elvis...that was class...

I haven't listened to the BTILC...so i'll give that a go soon...cheers

Best commentary is Dodgeball. The cast argue until they all leave and the sound engineer puts on the commentary from Everybody Loves Mary for the remainder of the film.

The commentary is probably funnier than the film.

I like Dodgeball, and the com track is great. One long joke sending up commentary tracks in general. I forgot about that one.

The Adam West/Burt Ward commentary on the Batman DVD is absolutely brilliant. Best I've ever heard.

BU supremo Bill Lustig was born to do an audio commentary. Just listen to his yap tracks on Maniac Cop, Uncle Sam, Vigilante and Maniac for further proof.

Jeff Burr's vocal contribution to Leatherface:The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III was pretty informative too from what i recall.

Very true.

Just a buncha guys in good spirits reminiscing over what's onscreen.

Informal and informative. The way all great yap tracks should be.

Most of the time if a dvd/blu has a commentry I'll watch it straight after I've watched the film. some of my favourites are:

Adam Mckay/Will Farrell Anchorman
Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez From Dusk Till Dawn
Ian Mucolloch Zombie Flesh Eaters
Edgar Wright/Quentin Tarantino Hott Fuzz

Therare load of ither great ones but these are the ones that come to mind at the moment.
