Shudder The new horror based on demand video streaming service Shudder went into Beta in the UK today, and I was wondering if anyone is using it, or planning to use it. I've heard so many good things from Americans who have the service, but with Sky having a bit of a monopoly here streaming services always seem a little lacklustre in terms of content in the UK. But there's a really good mix of titles up currently. They have loads of Arrow stuff (some VS stuff too, plenty of Hammer), but lots of really random things, like Funeral Home, The Day After Halloween, The Velvet Vampire and The Legend Of Boggy Creak too. Sadly they don't seem to have an app for Amazon, or for my Smart TV yet, so I have no way of watching this stuff on my TV. And I don't plan to watch it on my computer. And because of where they're positioned in my house it'd be a pain linking them. But at £4.99 a month, I'd definitely be up for giving them a chance based on what they've managed to acquire for beta. I assume the content will grow. As they're ran by the IFC Midnight people I was hopeful they'd have more IFC Midnight stuff that hasn't been picked up in the UK yet, but it doesn't appear so. |
Just announced today that Shudder will be getting the rights to stream George A Romero's The Amusement Park the once lost film. |

Hopefully the new versions will be out this year for both films, they don't seem to announce these things too far in advance either. |

Can anyone help? I’ve just subscribed to shudder and have been using the app and ‘mirroring’ onto my tv. However, sometimes only the sound comes through the tv, with just a black screen, while the video plays on my phone with no sound. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Shudder The best thing on Shudder by far, is the Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briiggs. Unfortunately the UK version don't get the rights to a lot of the films they show. I got a vpn on my phone and I can acesss the US version and cast it to my tv (no real problems casting for me). It's great being able to watch it live and tweet along with other people. The only downside is that when it's on live, it starts at 2am UK time on a Saturday morning. |
Yeah, I’ve watched Heathers and Hogzilla on The Last Drive in. It’s really great. He’s really knowledgeable about the films and the little snippets of insight etc are really great to listen to. Hoping to get a chance to watch Psycho Goreman through Joe Bob this week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
1 Attachment(s) September 25th, Shudder has a 40th Anniversary 4-movie special hosted by Elvira. Not sure if they'll be available on the UK Shudder after, but if you have the means to access the US version, it starts at 1am on Sunday the 26th. Attachment 236276 |

9 Attachment(s) There's a few Shudder movies coming to dvd and Blu-ray. Are any of them any good? Psycho-Goreman Belzebuth Terrified Tigers are not Afraid The Power Monstrum Son The Furies Violation |
I've only seen Tigers are not Afraid out of that lot but that was excellent! |
Psycho goreman getting raved about with positive reviews, Lol chuckling to myself because predictive txt come up as foreman, psycho foreman sound like a good idea for a film where foreman goes on a rampage killing ppl because he had enough of them and not doing as their told or being lazy . Here a review that tickled me, If Wishmaster and Power Rangers had a love child... ...this would be that love child. |

I might just nip back to Asda tomorrow and get the dvd of Tigers Are Not Afraid. I'm sure they had it. Didn't ever have the blu version but if it meant i could watch it tomorrow night that'd be okay. |
Psycho Goreman and Terrified are both great. PG is a kind of comedy sci-fi/horror. It had a kind of ‘Power Rangers’ vibe, and was very funny. Terrified is a Spanish language one. Super creepy. Well worth a watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Thanks Mucky. :thankingyou: |
Can anyone recommend any “child friendly” stuff on Shudder? The kids and they have already watched Psycho Goreman, The Old Dark House, and White Zombie. They’ve seen the universal horror movies, stranger things, and a few other bits. The new “nightbooks” is very good, btw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
The House That Dripped Blood Horror Express Carnival of Souls House On Haunted Hill City Of The Dead Dr Terrors House of horrors The mummy Captain Kronos Demonic These ones seem mild depending on how old your children are, but there is less gore in these |

Cursed Films: Rosemary's Baby. A insight to Roman Polanski's psychological horror film about a woman who gives birth to the devil's son. Nothing seemed to happen during the making of the movie but afterwards tragedies happen. Composer Krzysztof Komeda had a fall suffered a blot clot on the brain and died three months later, coincidentally the same thing happened to a character in the film. Victoria Vetri who had a small role shot her husband, Sharon Tate who was married to Roman was killed. Mia Farrow who was married to Frank Sinatra was served with divorce papers. William Castle who produced the movie began to have health problems and his family having health problems. This was part of season 2 of the Cursed Films, first episode was about The Wizard Of Oz, think we all know what went on, the next episode is to be on the film The Serpent And The rainbow. |
