Hi All Myself and some other horror and cult film fans/ academics have got together to put two events together at Deptford Community Cinema in London in the coming months. The cinema is a cosy 40 seater space and completely run by volunteers like myself. Hopefully these will be of interest to others in the forum. If you have any other ideas of events we should try and run, get in touch - everyone is welcome to get involved with programming at the cinema. KEN RUSSELL DAY Saturday 26th May, Deptford Cinema, London Matt will be joined by BAFTA award-winning Stephen Volk (Gothic, Ghostwatch) speaking about Ken Russell's films alongside a double-bill of GOTHIC and ALTERED STATES, and tasty food provided by local, sustainable cafe The Greenhouse, Deptford. Tickets are available via Deptfordcinema DOT org HAMMER FILM FESTIVAL Friday 1st June - Sunday 3rd June, Deptford Cinema, London 3-days jammed packed with Hammer double-bills, short academic talks and a quiz. I'm really looking forward to the talk about Hammer's unmade scripts. I had the awesome opportunity to see some of these in the DeMontfort Hammer archives in Leicester a few years ago.
