An American Werewolf in London scared me silly as a kid.. it was those dream sequences. And the TV version of Salem's Lot - that window scene disturbed me something chronic. And The Exorcist. If I had to name three, those were the ones, and I will add I was watching them at a very young, impressionable age. And as for AWIL and The Exorcist, they remain two of my favs to this day (Salem's Lot is good, but dated). |

I just bought the latest dvd release and although a little dated the stories are still for the most part creepy as hell.

Yep, he freaked me out as a kid too. As did the wicked witch (Margaret Hamilton) and her flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz.

This one isn't a horror movie, but I was scared of Trainspotting, mind you what the hell do you expect if you're only 5 years old and you watch that.

I think any striking images can make an impression when you're at an age. A few that spring to mind for me were the buffalo slaughter in Apocalypse Now, and an early scene from a 70's British gothic horror (starring Lana Turner) called Persecution, in which a young boy drowns his mother's cat in a bowl of milk. That upset and disturbed me immensely at the time. I still get very upset at depicted animal cruelty on screen. |

The whole scene with the puppy affects me a lot more than that bit, but on the whole I love that movie so much
