I remember watching THHOH on TV at a young age, and it having a effect on me too. I found it to be pretty scary at the time, and surprisingly violent and bloody. It would have been even better if David Bowie had played the psycho killer in the film (as was originally intended).
From the bowels of the earth they came ... to collect DVDs!
