Grizzly was heavily cut for an 'A' (PG) and Day Of The Animals was an uncut 'AA' (15), though I found Grizzly much scarier. When I saw Animals it was bizarrely supporting Happy Birthday To Me.

Two excellent films without doubt.

I'm guessing the bear attack on the little kid was cut out then!

The scene was heavily reduced, removing all the shots of his bloody severed stump. The opening killings of the girls was also cut, as well as the death of the girl in the tent (still a nasty scene today) and the killing of Richard Jaeckel. Basically all the gore closeups and shots of body parts were cut too.

Alligator was equally cut on the cinema too.

The first film that really frightened me was probably the Vincent Price classic,Theatre Of Blood.I remember sleeping for years with the covers pulled up around my neck in the hope of discouriging anyone from sawing off my head as I slept.Another one I remember as really frightening me was The Changeling with George C Scott.

The avatar you use stevoj comes from one of the first movies to really scare me, the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. That scene with the dog (I'm sure those who've seen it will know the part I mean) really freaked me out! It wasn't just that scene though, the whole film was pretty scary.

I love the '78 remake of IOTBS. Prefer it to the original, tbh.

So do I. I would rate this, The Thing and (possibly) The Blob as 3 remakes that actually improved on the originals.

Invaders From Mars. Errrr...... no.

No love for Invaders From Mars, then Vince?!

I also prefer the remakes of The Blob and The Thing - but do have a soft spot for The Thing From Another World.
