Supremely sinister stuff and the original BC is one of the undisputed classic slashers by a long way. |

Absolutely. The film that made Sorority houses terrifying.

The hallway sequence in Mario Bava's Shock is also brilliant for jolting the viewer imo but i think this spine tingling scene is grossly underrated especially by mainstream horror fans. I reckon us veteran devotees know better though. You just never see it coming because like most good vintage jump moments there's no indication something scary is going to occur. It just happens. |

As a kid it was Invaders From Mars and The Premature Burial. The biggest "quake" came years later when I watched The Evil Dead for the first time. |

I first saw Poltergeist on the cinema in 1982 and wondered why on earth it was an 'X' (18) though it was re-rated 15 the following year. I enjoyed Prince Of Darkness and still think it has a charm today. Seems to be a film that equally divides people though. |

The 15 certificate was in the process of being upgraded (from the 'AA') but MGM were in a hurry to release the film. So it ended up as an 'X'.

Wasn't the AA cert for 14 years and over?
