Killer Animal Movies! Hi everyone, I couldn't seem to find a thread about killer animal movies (I'm sure there is one somewhere). Anywho, what are some of the greatest Animal Attack movies of all time? Sure, there's the classics like Jaws and Piranha that most people will know of, but what are some of the best (or worst!) movies? To get the ball rolling, the other day I managed to watch Shakma. An obscure gem - a slasher movie... with a killer baboon! It was great fun and one to watch if you're lucky enough to find a DVD of it. Great kills, one crazy ass ape and quiet a few stars (Roddy McDowell and Tina from Nightmare On Elm Street). Love the trailer too - the voiceover guy lets it all out in the end... Anyone else seen this one? :pop2: |
I've seen a couple recently which i've briefly reviewed on the What Films Have You Seen? thread. Monkey Shines. A decent Romero film with a really sweet Capuchin monkey that turns killer. And Grizzly which is basically Jaws with a bear. It's not original but it's decent enough and has a good cast of grizzled western types. |
Grizzly is great fun, Dem! Have you seen the unfinished Grizzly 2 that was floating around? Basically a sequel in which a bear terrorises a rock concert. |

1 Attachment(s) There's dozens of the ****ers! Scream's Blu Ray of OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN is superb.Highly recommended! As is their DEADLY EYES,PIRANHA II and SQUIRM discs. ROTTWEILLER hasn't been seen (To my knowledge) since it was released on tape by Thorn Emi on tape back in the '80's. RAZORBACK has a cracking release in Oz from Umbrella, let down by hideous cover artwork. THE PACK directed by Deadly Eyes' and Enter The Dragons' Robert Clouse is a very entertaining mutts on the rampage flick.Far more enjoyable in fact than the Burt Brinckerhoff directed DOGS. |

Of all the 'mad mutt' movies,White Dog is probably the classiest. |

What about films like Not 100 % if all these can count as killer animals Jaws Pet sematary Tremors Thing King Kong American werewolf in London Godzilla Gremlins Dog soldiers Planet of the ape films The fly Shivers \ rabid Slugs Xtro |
I wish that a proper 1080p blu-ray of Alligator was available. At the moment, it's just dodgy looking upscales from Germany and Spain. It's such a terrifically witty monster movie that I'm amazed that a proper releasing firm hasn't already put it out on blu-ray. I would really like to see an Arrow release. btw Wouldn't rewatch the terrible sequel - once was enough! |

1 Attachment(s) My favorite is The Edge (1997). Alec Baldwin and Anthony Hopkins are great in it. |
The Edge and TG&TD are both great. |
I seen this thread mentioned in my RSS and was going to post a mention of Shakma expecting nobody to have ever heard of it. And there it was in the first post. Another one to mention is Link with Elizabeth Shue in her first role. If you watch the trailer you've pretty much seen the whole movie though. https://youtu.be/GF9Kh6-jTHw |
