BRIT HORROR not yet on Bluray

Every day during this October George Reis who runs the Hammer on Bluray FB page has posted a British horror film not yet released on bluray. As I've said before, I love a good list, so I've reproduced it here:

#1: CORRIDORS OF BLOOD (1958)
#2: DEVILS OF DARKNESS (1965)
#3: BLOOD OF THE VAMPIRE (1958)
#4: DEADLY STRANGERS (1975)
#5: THE SHUTTERED ROOM (1967)
#6: THE BODY STEALERS (1969)
#7: CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED (1964)
#8: VENOM (1971)
#9: WHAT BECAME OF JACK AND JILL? (1972)
#10: HORRORS OF THE BLACK MUSEUM (1959)
#11: DEVIL DOLL (1964)
#12: GRIP OF THE STRANGLER (1958)
#13: NO BLADE OF GRASS (1970)
#14: IT! (1967)
#15: BLOODBATH AT THE HOUSE OF DEATH (1983)
#16: NOTHING BUT THE NIGHT (1973)
#17: THE HAND OF NIGHT (1968)
#18: CRUCIBLE OF TERROR (1971)
#19: THE TWISTED NERVE (1968)
#20: NEITHER THE SEA NOR THE SAND (1972)
#21: WITCHCRAFT (1964)
#22: THEATRE OF DEATH (1967)
#23: THE FROZEN DEAD (1966)
#24: TROG (1970)
#25: DISCIPLE OF DEATH (1972)
#26: DARK PLACES (1973)
#27: PERSECUTION (1974)
#28: THE HANDS OF ORLAC (1960)
#29: THE GHOUL (1975)
#30: THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS (1962)
#31: THE LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF (1975)

If you were to pick one to release, which would it be? For me, it's an uncut NO BLADE OF GRASS

MrBarlow 31st October 2020 03:55 PM

Two I would go for is:

The Ghoul
Bloodbath at the house of death

Demdike@Cult Labs 31st October 2020 04:01 PM

The Deadly Strangers and What Became of Jack and Jill?

Why? They aren't on any format full stop!

I have sell-thru vhs versions of the two Tyburn films and to be honest they aren't up to much so i'm not too fussed about them.

Few I haven’t seen so can’t comment , but twisted nerve is fantastic and underrated gem as far as I’m concerned.

Demoncrat 31st October 2020 05:39 PM

Theatre Of Death certainly methinks

nosferatu42 31st October 2020 05:48 PM

I'd say the Tyburn two.

..And also go off on a tangent and say Razor blade smile.:coffin:

And the uncensored The Devils..with the extra juicy bits.:brainfood:

nosferatu42 31st October 2020 05:49 PM

..And Screamtime..

In these days of sickening real life violence,it's an (unfunny) ****ing joke that a 1971 film can't be seen in it's entirety on high def.... :headbang:

I have a US bootleg of it on dvd. It's way too bright for some reason, but that's easily rectified, but other than that the print is fecking superb. There's even a commentary track too.

nosferatu42 1st November 2020 11:17 PM

Yeah i've got a dodgy copy, Desert Island something or other, definitely needs a proper copy tho..

nosferatu42 1st November 2020 11:19 PM

I met Julie back in 1999. She signed my 'The Hammer Story' book.

Who owns that film. Is it Sony or another company. The film was originally released by Columbia Pictures. I was hoping that Powerhouse/Indicator might release the film in the UK down the road.
