Hospital Horror

I don't know why, but I'm a total sucker for genre flicks set in a hospital/clinic enviroment. They just up the tension and I'd very much welcome the arrival of some lost movies like "Hospital Massacre"/"X Ray" on legit releases.:)

Exquisite Tenderness, Visiting Hours and above all ....Halloween 2!

Does anybody know some Italian exploiters making good use of the setting (apart from the obvious "Absurd" beginning and "The Beyond" finale?)?

Do you also have a faible for this sub-sub genre and how'd you rate the chances for digging up some lesser known entries and their arrival on the shiny disc?

Horror Hospital was a gem. Vipco released it in the mid-90's and then Sovereign a few years later. Surprisingly gory for its time though I always loved Haunted House Of Horror too.

It would be interesting to see how Visiting Hours would fare at the BBFC now (the cinema/video version lost over 1 min). I'm pretty sure it would pass uncut now. Sleazy as hell film but great performances from Grant & Ironside - and it even has The Shat in it. http://shameless-films.com/forums/im...es/biggrin.gif

Hospital Horror was a good film. I also liked Tower of Evil. For a British film it was gory for its day.

Death Line was another gory British gem.

I've never seen it but I'm pretty sure Coma is set in a hospital. Might be a bit more mainstream than you're looking for tho.

Who Killed Bambi is an interesting French hospital based chiller with the ever-awesome Laurent Lucas, playing a crazed Dr. who goes about drugging, raping and killing his patients... untill caught by one of his students! Uh oh.

The Lazarus Syndrome was horrifying, but in a whole different way ;)

"Let Sleeping Corpses Lie" aka "The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue" is an Spanish/Italian co-production which was shot in England and has a good amount of screen time in a hospital/morgue setting, with most of the remainder set in a cemetary. Good flick if you haven't seen it!
